Easy access to Interstate 64. This charming one-floor, three-bedroom cottage is located in the Village of Barboursville (aka the best little village in WV). It has central heat and air conditioning keeping it comfortable all year round. You will enjoy the privacy of the entire home, including a full kitchen. The bedrooms each have ceiling fans and one bed per room including 1 king, 1 queen, & 1 double bed. Inside the home, the kitchen is equipped with a full-size electric range/oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator. Dishes, silverware, pots and pans, a drip coffee maker, coffee grinder, toaster and microwave are also available for you to use. If you find that you need anything else, please ask and if I have it you are welcome to use it. The kitchen and living room open up to each other. There is a kitchen table with 4 chairs, as well as four tv trays. The table in the living room could also be used for dining or computer work. You will find ceiling fans in the kitchen and all three bedrooms. In the living room, there is a couch (no sleeping on couch), recliner, chair, TV cabinet, a radio/cd player, and a table with chairs. Additionally, there is a portable laptop table next to the recliner. In the TV cabinet, there’s a TV with DVD player and lots of movies to watch. There’s also a hdmi cable, so if you have a Netflix account you can connect via WiFi. A few local channels are also available. The tray under the TV pulls out for better viewing from LR chairs. The home has 3 bedrooms and will sleep 6 people maximum, with two people per bed. Note: For sanitary reasons, the couch is NOT available for sleeping. The king bedroom has another TV, but it will only receive WSAZ, the local NBC affiliate and a few other public television channels via an antenna. Plenty of extra blankets and pillows are in the closets. We ask that you kindly remove the bedspreads and any fancy pillows before sleeping. A sign reminding you to do so is on all beds. We do not wash bedspreads after every guest because they would not stand up to the constant washing. We do wash all used linens and blankets after every guest, every time. Please do not make the beds when you checkout, so we know it was used. The bathroom is well-stocked with a variety of toiletries, shampoos and conditioners, a blow dryer, TP, and lots of towels. Before you come, share the house rules with all adults in your group. *********** Remember... NO SMOKING/vaping inside the home. This is not a party house. If you are planning on excessive drinking, then look somewhere else. There is a covered patio where you are welcome to smoke or grill out. The home is not suitable for small children. The entire yard is fenced, however, pets are not allowed. No exceptions. No parties or unregistered guests. If you plan to have visitors other than registered guests, please let the host know. The utility room next to the kitchen is not intended for guest use. *********** We thoroughly clean and sanitize touch points after each guest. However, you are expected to pick up after yourself daily. Please respect our place and put your food wrappers/trash in the garbage can; wash the dishes you have used before you leave; put your dirty towels in the basket in the bathroom closet. We strive to offer our guests an affordable clean, safe place to sleep. Whether you plan to stay one night, or multiple nights, I hope you will be comfortable here. We welcome mature adults and families with older children to visit. Let us know if we can assist you with anything at all while you are here. My home is conveniently located close to Interstate 64 (Exit 18) and it's right in the quaint Village of Barboursville. Huntington (home of the Marshall University Thundering Herd) is about 15 minutes away and Charleston (you won't want to miss Mountain Stage) is about 45 minutes. There are sidewalks throughout the village where you can walk and see the town or go over to the community park for a serious hike. Bike trails and fishing are available at the park. As you approach the front door through the gate, you will notice three steps leading to the front porch of this one level home. Use caution when climbing the steps because they have settled over the years and are somewhat sloped. There is an iron handrail to assist your climb if needed. On the porch, you will use a keyless lock for self-check-in and have private access to the entire house. You will need to provide your groceries if you choose to cook meals. Aldi, Foodfair, and Kroger are all very closeby. Reuseable shopping bags are located on the hooks next to the front door. There are a few spices provided in the cabinet, but not a lot. For your convenience, I provide some staples like salt and pepper, non-stick spray for pans, coffee, sugar, and non-dairy creamer, as well as tea bags. If you plan to cook, please also plan to thoroughly clean the kitchen. A dishwasher and pods are provided for your convenience. Note: We have a detached garage in the back yard so you may see us going in there from time to time if you are on the patio or looking out the back windows. Due to the self-check-in procedure, you may not even see me during your visit. Please notify us via the Airbnb app upon arrival and checkout. You will check-in by using the electronic lock on the front door. If you need anything, please let me know and I am always glad to help. I live next door, so please let me know if I can make your stay more comfortable. Barboursville is a quaint little village. Tourist info/brochures are available at the home. *Starbucks is inside Kroger less than a mile away. Another free-standing Starbucks is next to Target. Both are very closeby. The TTA bus line picks up passengers at the end of the street. Check their schedule for availability. Uber/Lyft are available. Yeager Airport in Charleston (CRW) is 46 miles and about 50 minutes driving time unless it is rush hour and then you should add extra time. The Huntington Tri-State Airport is 18 miles and about 22 minutes. You may park in the driveway or on the street in front of the house. Please do not block the sidewalk. You will enter through the front door, which is inside the fence on the porch. A convenient keypad is on the front door and you will receive a unique key code closer to your arrival date.
