Escape from the hustle and bustle of urban life and enjoy the rolling hills of Gainesboro in our historical 1925 bungalow. This charming escape is located in a prime location for water enthusiasts. We offer space on the property for guests to bring their boats to enjoy one of the beautiful nearby lakes or rivers. Roaring River Park is only 0.5 miles away with multiple boat docks available. Dale Hollow Lake and Center Hill Lake are both approximately a 30 minute scenic drive away. This 1925 bungalow is equipped with a full size kitchen and eating area, 2 bedrooms with queen beds and a pull out sofa sleeper in the family room. There is a small game area with a Foosball table, checkers, and board games in the event of a rainy day. There is a laundry room with full size washer and dryer. Though the house just went through a recent renovation with a complete new bathroom (tub and shower), we have maintained most of the original features such as the floors and accents and have furnished using period furniture to keep the original charm of this historical bungalow. Guests have access to the entire house and yard with the exception of the cellar. There is ample free parking on the property with plenty of space for vehicles . Hosts are always accessible to take care of any needs or questions as we reside less than 3 miles away. We will be happy to recommend local sites and activities if requested. There is a key lockbox for self check-in. Our bungalow is located a short drive (2 miles) from town but is considered in the country. There are beautiful views of the local mountains all while reclining on the front porch. It is only a stone's throw from the beautiful Cumberland River and Roaring River. Kayaking and paddle board are available to rent complete with shuttle service. While the bungalow is set in the idyllic remote countryside, it is also in an ideal location to the various area towns. Downtown Gainesboro is 2 miles away, historic Granville is only 12 miles away. For fans of the supernatural, Red Boiling Springs is only 18 miles up the road and features weekend ghost tours at the famous Thomas House. Please note that while our bungalow is located close to town, we are still located in the heart of nature. Along with beautiful views of the water and mountains, there are still natural occurrences of insects and small critters that coexist in the area.
