Vintage Camper Getaway at Acadia NP Schoodic Loop
Enjoy Downeast Maine’s rugged Bold Coast on Acadia’s most scenic hikes and beaches, then chill in our 1972 Shasta Camper! This vintage gem is located at our home in Birch Harbor, just a half mile to the bike paths at the Schoodic section of Acadia NP. Stay like a local and enjoy dinner and drinks at The Pickled Wrinkle or pick up groceries at Mc’s Market, both steps from the camper. The Shasta has seen almost 50 years and 45 states, but now that it has retired, we’d love to share it with you! In addition to the full kitchen and bath in the camper, you will have a picnic table, fire pit and access to a full bath with large shower and laundry located in our home. You may access the bathroom through your own, private entrance from 9am-8pm. Once you arrive, we will need to show you how to work certain appliances and switches in the camper. After the initial orientation, we can give you your privacy or we’re around should you need anything! Birch Harbor is situated at the exit of the Schoodic Loop of Acadia National Park and between Winter Harbor and Prospect Harbor on the Schoodic Peninsula. The Pickled Wrinkle pub, Me and Ben’s Dairy Creme (Ice Cream Stand), a US Post Office, Mc’s Market and gas is located just steps away from our house and camper. Winter Harbor has restaurants, art galleries, shops, and a ferry to Bar Harbor just 2 miles away. Prospect Harbor is a quintessential fishing village with amazing views, 2 miles in the other direction. You’ll avoid the crowds in Bar Harbor while getting a true Maine experience at this quieter corner of Downeast Maine. Oh and the star gazing is like nothing you’ve ever seen before! You can park next to the camper in our driveway. While the restaurant and market are very walkable from the camper, you must have your own car to get here. You can take a ferry from Winter Harbor to Bar Harbor.
