A Room in the Village, Room 7

A private bedroom in a cottage in the heart of Brookline Village. The room(s) can be booked individually or as a group. There is an on site care taker to ensure a quality experience for guests. Bedroom seven is a sunny room on the second floor of the cottage. The room features a full bed with a small dresser and closet, as well as a nightstand and handmade ceramic bedside lamps, perfect for reading. The room also features an overhead fan with a light with dimming capabilities, 100% cotton sheets, linen curtains, slippers and towels for your convenience. Guests have full access to the kitchen, which is fully stocked with all of the utensils and appliances that you may need. The kitchen also has a separate fridge for each bedroom. The sitting room features comfy seating, a large coffee table, a wood burning fireplace, and books for you to enjoy during your stay. There is a washer, dryer and dishwasher for your convenience. Overnight parking passes are available to purchase from the Town of Brookline by calling their Traffic and Parking Department located at Town Hall, or by visiting their website. There is a caretaker available by chance or by appointment. Brookline Village retains the feeling of a traditional village in countless ways. Brookline's earliest shops and restaurants were started here. It was also the site of America's first municipal gymnasium and public bath. Its inviting shops and cafes beckon to passers-by. It is also known for a cluster of antique shops and children’s shops. A neighborly center where store owners know each other and most of their customers by name. The Village prides itself on being a small, eclectic blend of old and new. Storefronts are tasteful and harmonious. The Village hosts coffee shops, breakfast places and a plethora of restaurants (Italian, Japanese, Mexican, Turkish, Chinese, Thai, Barbeque, pizza, Venezuelan, and a local pub). There are also wonderful cultural activities within walking distance, the birthplace and house museum of President John F. Kennedy, the Frederick Olmstead Estate, the Isabella Stewart Gardener museum and the Museum of Fine Arts. There is also a local arts theatre, the Coolidge Corner Movie Theatre, and an independent bookstore, the Brookline Booksmith, which hosts many events such as author readings and book clubs. The main branch of the Brookline Public Library is around the corner, and they often feature many great events such as film series, exhibitions, poetry readings and author readings. They have a detailed calendar available. The cottage is located moments away from two MBTA stops (the D and E line) and two bus routes (65 and 66) making it easy to reach downtown, Harvard Square, etc. From the Brookline Village T stop, there are also free shuttle buses that service all major hospitals, including Brigham and Women’s Hospital, the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and the Children’s Hospital. Longwood Medical Area is about a 7-10 minute walk. The historic Fenway Park is about a 15 minute walk and 10 minutes beyond that is Boston’s shopping district, Newbury Street. Also within walking distance are many of Boston’s Universities, including Boston University, Northeastern, Harvard Medical School, Simmons College and many more. Boston College is a 10 minute drive. There are two bike-for-hire (hubway) stands around the corner as well as a zip car port.
