The Cottage
Welcome to The Cottage! This quaint getaway is reminiscent of the revival “Tents” that were found here in a bygone era. Overlooking Carter’s Creek, it is nestled in the midst of everything the Northern Neck has to offer. A short walk from Irvington shops and restaurants. And you’re near hiking, Compass Entertainment Center, and the Chesapeake Bay! It's an ideal couples getaway, girls’ weekend destination, and fun family escape. The real allure of the Cottage is the outdoor space. Have your morning coffee on the shady front porch. Unwind at the end of the day on the large screened porch with views of the creek and watch and listen for the bald eagles. Don’t forget to stroll down to the dock at dusk to see the beavers at work! You must climb stairs as it is a 3-level cottage: on the main level you find kitchen, dining, and living areas; on the upper level - Master bedroom and Bath; on the lower level - two more bedrooms and bathrooms. NOTE: Unfortunately, neither the cottage nor the property is kid friendly (lots of safety hazards), and therefore not suitable for kids under 9 years old. We deeply apologize. The entire house is yours to enjoy. Enjoy your privacy, but do not hesitate to contact me if you need anything as I live just a few minutes away . The Cottage is "hiding" in the intimate park-like setting of the small Vineyard Grove community located in the charming historic village of Irvington. 3 hours away from Washington, D.C., 90 minutes from Richmond or Norfolk. It is easy to walk to pretty much any place in Irvington. However, you need a car to explore Kilmarnock, White Stone and other nearby towns, parks and beaches. (Website hidden by Airbnb) There are parks to hike, small sandy beaches to swim, meadows to ride bikes around, cute restaurants to dine - take a look at our Guidebook (under "More about location" tab) to find things-to-do in Irvington and surrounding areas.
