Stay In apart of history. Recently renovated 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom condo is located on the top floor (Walk-up, no elevator) of an turn of the century home that was converted to condos in 2005. Please note, this is an old building and has old smells. Close to the Hagerstown City Park, Considered by many to be the crown jewel in the City’s park system, historic City Park is home to the Jonathan Hager House & Museum, the original homestead of the City’s founder, Jonathan Hager. City Park is a picturesque collection of man-made lakes, wooded walking trails, picnic facilities, and active recreation facilities. It is also home to the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, the Hagerstown Railroad Museum and Engine 202, and the Mansion House Art Center. Walkable to many downtown restaurants and The Maryland Theatre. Built in 1915, designed by renowned architect Thomas Lamb, the theatre is the anchor to the Arts & Entertainment district in the city which comprises a new high school for the visual and performing arts, offices of the Washington County Arts Council and numerous new businesses and retail enterprises. The Theatre provides comfortable seating for 1300 at performances of country artists, comedians, orchestra concerts, children's shows, musicians, recitals, plays, including serving as the home of the Maryland Symphony Orchestra, Barbara Ingram School for the Arts, City Ballet School and the Miss Maryland Scholarship Pageant. Antietam Battlefield, The Bloodiest Day in American History--Hope for Freedom 23,000 soldiers were killed, wounded or missing after twelve hours of savage combat on September 17, 1862. The Battle of Antietam ended the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia's first invasion into the North and led Abraham Lincoln to issue the preliminary Emancipation Proclamation. Ski WhiteTail, - Whitetail offers skiing and snowboarding on 19 trails. The mountain boasts a 935-foot vertical drop, six lifts, a halfpipe and two terrain parks. The resort has a western feel and is decidedly modern.
