Welcome to the River’s Edge Cottage! A special spot right on the Kern River with river access & wonderful vistas of the surrounding mountains. The large private 2 bedroom quarters are perfect for a couple or a small family. With a full bath, kitchenette/dining area, wood burning fireplace, large patios and riverside terrace, you'll have everything you need to enjoy your stay. The upper floor is not occupied, so the ample property is yours alone to enjoy during your stay! The house is newly remodeled & is curated in a rustic modern style with vintage artwork, some favorite books & games, and comfortable furniture. Many thoughtful design details- even the wood paneling is locally sourced from naturally felled trees in the Sequoia National Forest. We aim to give you a 5-star stay. Think of it as your own river resort! It’s just the right size for couples and can accommodate small families. Inside you’ll find a pleasant space to relax and take in the experience of a breathtaking riverfront setting. The main room with a queen bed and a large sofa opens to the roomy kitchenette with a dining table for 4. A second room has a queen-size pullout sofa & fireplace lounge. Sleeps up to 4 comfortably. You'll also have your own A/C + Heat with remote control, Cable TV & Wifi. The well-stocked kitchenette is equipped with a dual cooktop, countertop oven, full microwave & mid-size fridge/freezer. Every cooking item a chef needs for a simple meal is provided. Exterior dining table for 8. Step outdoors to one of the patios for a charcoal BBQ dinner or glass of wine al fresco, or sit right at the river’s edge and feel the cool rush of water. The sunrise over the eastern ridges will wake you gently to start your day. Adventure abounds for those who seek it. Hiking trails, kayaking, rafting, nature walks, paddle boarding, mountain biking, fly fishing, a nearby cedar forest, Kern River Audubon Preserve, Sequoia Park & Giant Redwoods, Isabella Lake, Salmon Creek Falls – even a quaint chairlift ski resort less than half-hour away - are all right here in the incredibly diverse Kern River Valley and its surrounding area. But, it’s ok to just take it easy too! Take in the magnificent sunlit eastern ranges of the Sierras at sunset. As dusk gives way to the Sierra night you can explore the bountiful shooting stars. You will sleep very peacefully to the sounds of the river. Stay in or go out. The choice is yours.
