Sitting at the base of the Spanish Peaks Mountains in the Hoajatoya Valley, the San Francisco Ranch is blessed with stunning natural beauty and vistas. As you enter through the gate and drive down the quarter mile tree line drive you'll be greeted by cattle, horses, deer, elk, wild turkeys and countless species of native birds feasting on fruit trees. You'll be taken back by the endless green pastures framed by stunning views of the West Spanish Peak and the Sangre de Cristo mountains to the west. The natural springs and creeks that abound on the property, along with rich soils make the land burst with greenery, flowers and wildlife that make the San Francisco Ranch feel like the Garden of Eden! This truly is one of the most beautiful places in all of Colorado! As you turn into the circular drive you'll find the two homes on the property that are man made works of art! The homes were built in 1890 and 1920 and boast character and craftsmanship seldom seen in modern architecture. The guest house, which will be your primary quarters during your stay, was remodeled by artist and craftsman working with steam bent wood, hand forged iron, adobe and hand painted tile. As you walk through the 150 year old 200 lb front doors which were imported from old Mexico you'll be greeted by Renaissance style fresco paintings decorating the arched section of the ceiling in front of wooden windows repurposed from an 18th century chapel. While staying at the ranch you can choose from many optional activities at the ranch, including hiking, cycling, fishing, horse back riding, archery, target shooting, pheasant and quail hunting, picnics by the creek, riding ATV's and much more! Here you can be as active as you want or simply relax and take some much needed R&R. You can pick your own farm fresh organic free ranging eggs for breakfast, or for a small fee let us handle the work and serve you an amazing breakfast on the deck while you enjoy the morning sun creeping over the mountains. If you appreciate farm to table grass fed beef, our staff will prepare an unforgettable barbecue for your group including herbs and vegetables from our own garden. For those who enjoy fresh avian fair, we harvest our own all organic free ranging chickens and farm raised quail. For an unforgettable dinning experience, we serve Texas style slow smoked barbecue or let our head Gaucho from Argentina delight you with a South American (Argentine/Brazilian) style barbecue! (Much like a Fogo de Chao, with all of the traditional Argentine cuts of grass fed beef served outdoors at the foot of a 13,650' majestic mountain! Food service is seasonal. Advanced 14 day notice is required for food service to make arrangements to butcher and prepare the food for your group for an additional fee). We look forward to having you as our guest. If you have special request, please call us and we will do everything we can to make it happen! If you'd like to have a bigger group we can accommodate 4 more guest in a 30' RV and or set up clamping for up to 100 people. (3 week notice required for clamping groups).
