Antietam Toll House~an historic waterfront cabin
The Antietam Toll House (Instagram @antietamtollhouse) is a recently renovated historic property circa 1800 which sits on the bank-head of the Antietam stream, complete with a private fishing hole. The property is partially fenced and sits at the end of a private drive on over a half acre of land. This was the gatekeepers house for the original toll bridge which was burned by General Lee's army on their retreat from Gettysburg. Secluded, yet close to amenities and attractions, this property is the perfect place for an artist retreat, respite from the city or a base from which to explore the local gems of the area. Wineries, the Appalachian trail, Antietam and Gettysburg battlefields and Ski Liberty and more all nearby. The area is rich in history. https://waynesboropa.org/history/ As this was the original toll house the new road and bridge run behind this property. While private you can expect some road noise outside.
