The Cabin in the Woods; one level living

There was a ski preview weekend Dec 11 and 12. Opening is just around the corner! Studies have proven that the more trees people see, the greater their experience of stress reduction...come relax at The Cabin in the Woods! Outside: There is a COVERED FRONT PORCH where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. There is a BACK DECK where you can GRILL. Great room: Come in and lounge by the GAS FIREPLACE or enjoy the cool AIR CONDITIONING depending on the season of your visit. The kids immediately flock to the chess GAMING TABLE. Inside they will find checkers and chess pieces. There are dvds, games, and puzzles also available, so there is always something to do. There is a SMART TV with 150 CABLE CHANNELS in the living room. Master Bedroom: A comfortable QUEEN bed. ENSUITE BATH with a tub/shower combo. SMART TV with 150 CABLE CHANNELS. Bedroom Two: A comfortable QUEEN bed. SMART TV with 150 CABLE CHANNELS. Bedroom Three: A comfortable QUEEN bed. SMART TV with a tv/dvd combo. Hall Bath: Shower/tub combo. Sheets, blankets, towels and toilet paper provided. Laundry: There is a stacked WASHER and DRYER. Usually there is detergent (not guaranteed). Kitchen: The kitchen includes a toaster oven, Keurig, traditional coffee maker, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, crock pot, blender, mixer, pots, pans, baking sheets, baking dishes, and bowls. Plates, cups, and flatware is also on hand. Linens and one roll of paper towels are provided. Usually (not guaranteed) there are dishwasher pods and some basic items such as seasonings, sugar, flour, coffee filters, oil, honey, apple cider vinegar, so on. The house is WIFI enabled. The ski area is approximately 1.3 miles down the road if you prefer to drive. Ski rentals and lift tickets need to be purchased in advance. Be sure to get your snow tube tickets as soon as they come available as they sell out fast. Hiking: There are 30 miles of hiking trails for all levels on the mountain. There is even one that travels through the copse of trees across from the cabin! Trails are marked with picture signs of hikers. If you follow the trail, one half mile down the road, you will find The Nature Foundation at Wintergreen. Every Saturday a hike is lead from there. Swimming: Chestnut Springs outdoor swimming pool is 1.75 miles from the cabin and is open from Memorial day through Labor day. There is also an outdoor pool at Stoney Creek available for your use. (Hours might be restricted due to covid). Golf: Stoney Creek, Old Trail, Poplar Grove, Orchard Creek, and Swannanoa. (fees) Other activities: Tennis (fee), spa (fee), Sherando Lake (fee), and Lake Monocan (fee). Also consider trips on the Blue Ridge Parkway or a drive to Crabtree falls. Route 151 tours: The Silverback Distillery has real honey-liqueur infused Blackback Rye Whiskey (yum!). There are beer, wine, and cider trails if you prefer something else.
