Animal friendly basement suite close to town

Ideally located between Durango, Lake Nighthorse, and Mesa Verde National Park (20 min) on the Alpine loop highway. A homebase for all the activities in the area. The unit includes a small kitchenette. It has a well furnished living space and a large backyard with hammocks with a view of alpine forest. Dog friendly fenced yard. Note this is the lower level of a two level house. ** You will be sharing the house with guests upstairs ** you have separate entrances but will share the yard and washer/dryer. Upper level guests will not have access to the lower part of the house. This is the lower level of a two level house. You will walk around behind the house and access via a keypad. The pad is packed diet and is steep in places. We live nearby and are available but generally you will not interact with us unless you come over and say howdy. Durango West is a working neighborhood of Durango - there are some people in this development with three jobs and some who just work enough to pay for their lift tickets. It's a dog friendly, child friendly, relaxed, safe, and authentic place. This is not a resort area where no one occupying a house actually lives here. It's about 12 minutes to town from Durango West 1 and about 1000 vertical feet. About 20 min to Mancos and about 40 to Cortez. 5 min to Hesperus ski area and 45 min to Purg. You can bike to town but you should either rent an e-bike or be in good enough shape to climb 1000 vertical feet on your way back up. The approach to the entrance is steep and not appropriate to people with mobility issues.
