We have a single room in our home with a full size bed and large desk. We offer guests exclusive use of the main bathroom. Perfect for visiting students and teachers. You can enjoy full use of the kitchen and living room. We have an adorable Teacup Chihuahua named Twig. IF YOU DO NOT LIKE DOGS, THIS IS PROBABLY NOT THE LISTING FOR YOU. We do occasionally have additional dogs visiting, so please check before booking with a dog. Please be assured that deep disinfecting is performed prior to your stay.*** The room will comfortably accommodate two. It is very quiet and great for people who need to do work, study, read or who just want peaceful surroundings. There are plenty of books that guests can borrow while staying with us. There are drawers built into the bed as well as a closet with plenty of hangers for storage. Please excuse us as we are renovating the living room! Guests have full access to the house. There is a small smart TV in the guest room that gets MANY local channels, Hulu Plus, Netflix and Amazon Prime but no cable. We have a large shared kitchen that guests can use as well with cookware, dishes and silverware. For those interested, there is a piano in the living-room. We love getting to know our guests, but we certainly want to offer as much privacy as our guests need. The main bathroom is all yours as we have a bathroom in the master bedroom. We do have some things stored in the main bathroom, however, so we do need occasional access. The Berkeley Hills neighborhood is a beautiful, upscale area. It is absolutely safe, beautiful, and close to the UC Berkeley campus, downtown Berkeley, and Solano Ave as well as bus and BART lines. There is a 5 minute walk to the bus that will take you to the main BART (metro) line to San Francisco. There are many public transportation options as well as street parking (and yes, it is OK to park on the sidewalk on this side of the street.) Bicycles are also welcome. We always offer coffee and tea to our guests. On some occasions, we are able to give guests rides to nearby places such as the BART station. You are welcome to use the living room, dining room, kitchen and back patio as though you lived here. The main bathroom is all yours as we have a bathroom in the master bedroom. We do have some things stored in the main bathroom, however, so we do need occasional access. We interact with guests as much or as little as feels natural. While we might be in the house, we will not disturb guests unless absolutely necessary. We do love getting to know people, so we welcome guests into common areas. Edrie is usually available by cell phone during work days. The Berkeley Hills neighborhood is a beautiful area with diverse architecture, gorgeous landscapes and hiking paths (map to Berkeley paths available.) It is very safe and close to the UC Berkeley campus, downtown Berkeley, and Solano Ave as well as bus and BART lines. Bicycles are also welcome. PARKING: There is plenty of street parking on our block (not always directly by the house, but close.) Please note that the street becomes quite narrow and it is necessary to park partially on the sidewalk on the east side of the street (the side the house is on.) We always offer coffee and tea to our guests. On some occasions, we are able to give guests rides to nearby places such as the BART station. Please let us know of any other needs and we will see what we can do to accomodate.
