See you in the Spring of 2022 with more amenities than ever. Have a great Winter! We are now open for five days and longer stays - and with 10 beautiful, private acres you can get away peacefully, healthfully and mindfully! Late Spring is so beautiful at the Charming Catskills House. Flowers are bursting into bloom and a variety of birds are stopping by the pond. The stream is rushing and it's beautiful! There's nothing like having the beauty of a pond and a stream for your peaceful Catskills getaway. You get the whole Catskills house and acreage, and hundreds more acres to explore on our mountain. The environment is very peaceful, easy and pretty. And, no extra charges for holidays! We truly hope you will love our charming home as much as we do! Perfect for Spring, Summer and Fall, our 10-acre vacation home in the Catskills was recently renovated. And in 2016, we completely upgraded the electricity so you can confidently turn on all the heaters if you're cold in the spring and summer months. We've widened the road going up to the house. Imagine driving over our private bridge and into placid woods full of water features. It's very private and bucolic with a big, secluded 1/3 acre pond and a rushing stream on the property (the creek is great for wading, and we once found a 20 inch trout under the bridge when the creek was high). There are only five houses on the mountain, so if you like privacy, this is for you. You might see a variety of birds like herons and hawks and grouse and maybe a fox or two. We love the kingfisher who appears daily over the stream toward evening. In Spring, it's the flowers and birds that thrill. Later in the summer season, you'll pick wild raspberries and strawberries and blackberries. In the Autumn, you'll love the colors as the leaves turn. You'll sip local cider and go pumpkin picking on and off Route 28. The house features a wrap around deck with a picnic table and great views. There are benches and rockers around the pond along with wind chimes, and two hummingbird feeders. Take a stroll up the mountain and marvel at the peace and quiet. You'll likely encounter deer on your trek, too. And the starry sky at night -- it's what dreams are made of. The charming house features a bedroom that looks out onto the pond from one window and the stream from the other. There's a CD player/record player/radio with an iPod doc, too. The bathroom has a new water tank and a nice shower with crisp, clear mountain water. And the kitchen is equipped with an electric stove, microwave, fridge, Melitta cone filter drip coffemaker with filters, toaster and more. (There is no oven, however.) There is a TV with a DVD player and shelves full of books to read. There is no Wi-Fi or phone. But you can get free Wi-Fi at the Peek-A-Moose restaurant down the road and in the library and community center at Pine Hill a mile away up the road. Verizon and AT&T phones are the only mobile devices that work at the house and in the Catskills in general. Let us know what you'd like to do, and we can help you arrange it. We've been in the area for nearly two decades, and we know the great hidden places that only locals are aware of. The area features waterfalls, outdoor concerts, hiking, biking, swimming, tubing, fishing, golf, tennis, soccer, baseball, horseback riding, antiquing, flea markets, yard sales, auctions, barbequing, or simply relaxing and reading a book. You can flag the NYC Port Authority Bus, and the Belleayre Beach Day Use Area is less than a mile away. For $1, the shuttle bus will take you there and back. There is a $50 cleaning fee and a $300 reservation fee refundable within 72 hours of your departure. Pets are not allowed. And there's no smoking in the house. Let us know if you have any questions and we'll be glad to answer them to the best of our knowledge! Literally everything on the property (except the tool shed). Anything you need, just ask and we'll answer quickly. You'll have our phone number, so you can text as well as call. It's quiet and rural. But Pine Hill, a charming hamlet, is a mile away. If you have tickets, you can hail a Trailways bus to New York City right on Route 28, or you can be dropped from New York there, too. (Route 28 is about 900 feet from the house.) There's a also a $1 shuttle that goes to Woodstock and Kingston.
