Airy Urban Loft in Historic LA
Kick back on a lounger, or gather around the fire pit at night at this hip, modern loft in an urban oasis close to Downtown LA. Open the double doors and chill in the shaded yard, surrounded by Palo Verde trees, cacti, and fragrant citrus trees. This is the largest of the lofts in the compound and can accommodate 3 guests. NOTE there is ONE QUEEN BED and a roll away for an additional person or for those that need two beds. This loft is the largest of all of the lofts, has a high ceiling along with a set of commercial glass doors that can be opened up to the common outdoor space. The glass double doors feature frosted glass, and a roll down metal gate can be closed for privacy and adds an industrial touch to the experience. Eclectic furnishings and an open floor plan create a cozy, home away from home in the loft. The kitchen is in the big open living space, complete with a range, double oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster and all the basics needed for cooking meals and dining in. There is a round wood dining table with four wire chairs for dining. There is a sofa and two Verner Panton chairs to sit in for watching television or hanging out to talk. The smart TV has basic cable and a remote for you to view Netflix if you have an account. The bathroom has a sink, toilet and shower with a glass enclosure. The bedroom area is a room off the main living space with a large closet. The bathroom is accessed from the sleeping area with a sliding frosted glass door entry for more privacy. The SECOND BED IS A ROLLAWAY that is placed in the main living space. Advance notice is needed if the ROLLAWAY is needed for the 3rd guest. Outside in the Bar Shed there is also an Honor Bar that has drinks and snacks, and coin-operated washer and dryer in the Laundry Shed. There are several outdoor sitting areas for lounging, talking and a fire pit area that can be turned on by notifying host. Guests have their own private loft but the outdoor common areas like the fire pit and sitting areas can be used by other guests, chances are you will rarely see the other guests. A tall fence with a gate separates the compound from the street and is locked at all times, only guests with keys can access the locked compound. There is FREE, ON-THE-STREET PARKING that is usually abundant and available right out side the compound with no parking restrictions. Host can be reached by phone or text. Luggage can be dropped off early or left for those that need to store luggage. The loft is located in the Rose Hills neighborhood, an ethnically diverse residential and commercial area. There are a few businesses, dining spots, and Debs Park within walking distance. It's a burgeoning and quickly growing area. There is free on-the-street parking with no restrictions, and generous spaces especially at night right outside of the compound. Los Angeles is very spread out and while there is a limited Public Transportation system, it's easier to get around with a rental car or ride sharing app (Lyft or Uber). The compound can also be accessed with public transport to and from LAX airport via the Public Metro Bus 79 or 78 and the FlyAway Bus. The Flyaway Bus can be taken from LAX to UNION STATION ($9.50 each way). From Union Station, walk out to Mission Road and catch the Metro Bus EASTBOUND 78 or 79 heading toward El Sereno, Alhambra, Pasadena for $1.75 each way.
