Cozy, two story, furnished cottage with three bedrooms, full kitchen, living room, sitting room and 2 separate bathrooms. Enclosed three season veranda; towels and bedding provided. Wood stove in livingroom, large screen TV with Internet. AC on each floor; fans in all bedrooms. Ideal for up to three couples or 3 singles; there is an extra single airbed in the closet and another fold down couch in one of the bedrooms for a single person. Floor space is ample if guests want to bring extra airbeds. Prior arrangements need to be made with host for groups over 6 as there is an additional charge of $20.00 per guest over 6. Full use of entire cottage; grounds include a hilltop covered gazebo and deck with adjacent 16 acre woodland; you can dine alfresco; propane grill and fire pit. Backdoor wood patio has an outdoor propane grill available for use in the summer from May to November; Wifi/internet access throughout house. Cell phone access is good. Ample parking. We may or may not be present when you arrive; please text us when you do arrive to let us know you are here; We live next door and are available for any questions or assistance - such as if you need help lighting the woodstove, the firepit or need more firewood. We are happy to recommend places to eat or things to do - check the Guidebook on this site. Hilltop, largely wooded property, 18 acres with easy access to Hudson, Great Barrington and Albany. On a paved road and with private paved driveway. Abundant wildlife including deer, birds, foxes, owls and turkeys. An occasional bear has been seen. Excellent opportunities nearby for outdoor activities - hiking, bicycling, skiing, horseback riding. Hudson and Great Barrington have many great restaurants, cafes, boutiques and galleries. Classic Chief Martindale Diner is walking distance from house. No public transportation is available other than Amtrak in Hudson. Uber and taxis are available in Hudson but must be booked in advance. Private car is a necessity. Martindale Diner is within short walking distance for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Located the in Hudson Valley and close to the Berkshires and city of Hudson. We have three dogs and three cats who wander around but are not in the guest house. There is a chicken coop and fresh eggs are available for purchase. This is a country house - not a hotel - it is surrounded largely by woodland and fields. There is high-speed wifi. There is a large-screen TV monitor and also lots of DVDs. Wildlife is prevalent. Water is from deep spring-fed well. Please do not bring bottled water or plastic/paper plates and utensils. Kitchen is very well stocked with ample dinnerware, pots and pans. Additional appliances include toaster, micro-wave, blender, coffee-maker and dishwasher. In the winter please pay attention to the weather - heavy snowstorms can impact access. Our elevation can also affect temperature swings between day and night.
