The Abbott House is conveniently located in South Central Kentucky approximately 80 miles or 1 ½ hours from Knoxville, Tennessee, two hours south of Lexington, Kentucky and 10 minutes from the Kentucky/Tennessee border. The house is less than 30 minutes south of Somerset, Kentucky and north of Oneida, Tennessee. The area near this rental offers fishing, hunting, swimming, horseback riding, hiking, canoeing and white-water rafting, golfing, sightseeing, boating and much more. Groceries, gas stations, and restaurants can be found nearby in Oneida, Tennessee, and Whitley City or Somerset, Kentucky. The home has been newly remodeled with an open floor plan that provides for luxury and comfort. A new kitchen, dining room and living area allows for gatherings and activities. There are four (4) bedrooms accommodating 7 to 8 guests: two bedrooms with king beds, one bedroom with twin beds and one bedroom with a full-sized bed. One of the two bathrooms adjoins one of the king bedrooms. The new kitchen, two bathrooms, 4 bedrooms (with new bedding and mattresses) provides a vacation rental for a home base of operation for relaxing, enjoying, and exploring all the area has to offer. New heating/air-conditioning was installed in 2019. OPEN YEAR ROUND The Abbott House is a perfect place for lots of activities or settling down in a rocker on one of the two porches, reading, playing horseshoes, gathering in the covered picnic area, or playing games from the stocked game closet. In the evenings enjoy the night sky and stargazing. There is a copper outdoor fire pit with firewood to enjoy. Internet service, TV with cable and a DVD with DVD collection is provided. The kitchen is stocked with complimentary water and pizza for the nights when you don’t want to cook or run out for a bite to eat. The property is open year-round.
