He was caught a couple of months later in Toledo, Ohio and sentenced to 12-15 years in the Columbus , Ohio State penitentiary. On the train ride down he jumped out the bathroom window of the moving train and went on to rob banks for another 4 years. After Melvin Pervis and the Feds killed John Dillinger he became public enemy #1 until Melvin Purvis and the Feds finally caught up to him and killed him in southern Ohio.
