Welcome to Breezy Vale Farmstead located just outside the renowned Hobart Book Village. This exquisite 1840's farmhouse has 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms on 2.6 acres of land. A large private deck behind the house provides views of the rolling hills and pastures that surround the property. Impeccably appointed and renovated to maintain its heritage while meeting modern day needs. This home is in a prime location close to hiking trails, restaurants, farmers markets, skiing and wedding venues. In the warmer months the nearby town of Stamford also has a community pool and two tennis courts - only 3.1 miles away! Driving to the house through the valley, the gentle slopes of farmland on each side are reminiscent of the English countryside. Built in 1840, Breezy Vale Farmstead is a classic Greek Revival Farmhouse with 3000 sf of perfectly restored space. Architectural features like wide plank American Chestnut floors, double pocket doors and spiral staircase will enthrall history buffs. The home sits off the paved country road with a short, gently sloped driveway and generous parking area. Up a few steps and enter the home through the mudroom with ample space for coats and shoes. The mudroom opens to the kitchen, a wide open concept space with plenty of room for gathering and meal preparation. A sliding door to the back deck gives a view of the back yard and easy access to the outside dining and BBQ area. A table and island bar provide seating in kitchen for casual dining. The formal dining room, open to the kitchen, is the perfect spot for group meals and after dinners games. Just off the dining room is a living room with comfortable sofa and chairs, TV and a front office space. An additional living room is on the other side of the foyer, a sumptuous space for lounging and gathering. A pellet stove gives ambiance and takes the chill off during the colder months. Double pocket doors open to a bedroom with queen bed and spacious ensuite bathroom with tub/shower combo. The first floor also has a laundry room with half bathroom conveniently located just off the kitchen. The upstairs of the home is separated into two parts. A staircase in the dining room leads to the right side of the upstairs where there is a bedroom with two twin beds. Double skylights showcase the stars at night and welcome the morning sun. The ceiling in this L shaped room is sloped with a ceiling height of approximately 6 feet at the top. The spiral staircase in the foyer leads to the left side of the upstairs. On the left is an east facing bedroom with queen bed and large walk in closet. On the right is a roomy bathroom with clawfoot tub, a luxurious spot for a bubble bath after a long day of skiing or summer fun. The master bedroom is expansive, spanning the entire width of the home. A king sized bed, sitting area and closet complete the room and allow for the idea. space to unwind and prepare for the days activities. Guests are provided with a starter supply of toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, soap, shampoo, dishwasher detergent, dish soap, laundry soap, propane, cleaning supplies. When the provided supply is gone guests should purchase what they need for the remainder of their stay. Internet is DSL and provided by Spectrum, speed is 40mpbs. Increased speed is available for an additional cost and with a minimum of one week's notice. Both staircases are relatively steep. Please walk and use caution on the stairs. The twin bedroom has a low, sloped ceiling with a height of approx. 6ft. and double skylights. The twin bedroom, front queen bedroom and master bedrooms do not have curtains or blinds, the benefit of being in the country with no neighbors but the deer. Light sleepers may want to bring sleep masks.
