Cozy single level in charming Carlton; 4 blocks from downtown. 2 decks to enjoy the outdoors. 100+ wineries within 10 miles. 4 blocks to downtown tasting rooms, restaurants and coffee shops. Centrally located between 3 college towns. 7 minutes to McMinnville for shopping, golfing, Evergreen Aviation Museum, Water Park & other attractions. 17 miles to Hagg Lake for hiking, swimming, boating or fishing. 1+ hour to the beautiful coast and 2+ hours to majestic Mt Hood. 55 miles to PDX airport. The main home was built in 1930 and served as the office to the Carlton Manufacturing Company, which was a sawmill back in the day. There used to be a lake directly behind the house. We have added on to the home and done many remodels as needed over the years, but have tried to retain the unique character of the original structure. Even though we are on the edge of town, we are nestled in a wildlife reserve. It is not unusual to see deer while you are enjoying the outdoors from either of our 2 peaceful decks. We offer a fully equipped kitchen for those who would like to cook their own meals. There is a ductless heat pump which provides both heating and cooling, with a remote control which is on the wall by the microwave. Cadet Heaters are in each room as well for back up heating. There are only two steps in the home, which go down to the family room/office/third bed. The entire property is yours to use, with the exception to the shop next door which has a studio apartment in it with a full-time tenant. We will be accessible to you as needed via text or phone & will respond promptly. We live close by so can be available quickly if you need anything or there is an emergency situation. We are across the street from 2 Wineries with tasting rooms. We are only a four block walk into town for many more tasting rooms, restaurants and coffee shops. It is a quiet town and neighborhood. Since we are so close to downtown, many of our guests choose to walk, otherwise you can drive as parking is not a problem. There is a heat pump that provides heat in the winter and air conditioning in the summer. There is a remote control to set the temperature hanging on the wall next to the microwave. There is also a separate gauge telling you what the temperature inside is.
