Private, quiet , waterfront retreat
A castle on the lake! Private, exquisite, unbelievable.
Stonecastle is a private, exclusive, 12 acre forested estate overlooking the very heart of grand lake and nestled in the foothills of the Ozark mountains. The waterfront estate covers an entire peninsula with over 2000 feet of shore line and features two nearly private coves for your peaceful enjoyment. A haven for fishermen and nature lovers, this placid setting is home to a variety of wildlife including bald eagles, heron, pelican, deer, fox, bobcat, raccoon, armadillo and many other wonderful creatures. Stonecastle itself is centered atop the peninsula and is built around four 40 foot stone towers offering an unprecedented view of the lake. Enjoy the tranquil setting from inside the castle or from either of its two very large decks. The 4000 square foot castle is built on three floors with a spectacular lookout located on the 4th level inside one of the towers. Approaching through the wrought iron and stone gate foretells the elegant yet comfortable luxury awaiting you. Stonecastle estate might remind you of an ancient castle in Europe, but this one is full of modern comfort! From the main floor, experience a panoramic view of the lake and woods, oak floors throughout and a great room with stone fireplace. Enjoy a spectacular view each morning from the master bedroom, relax in the grand sized soaking tub or wash away your cares in the separate glass shower. Prepare gourmet meals in a fully stocked kitchen, then serve your family and friends on the 12’ granite island for casual dining, or in the adjacent dining room that easily seats 10. Open the sliding glass wall to the attached sun room to seat additional guests, or just to rock away the day reading, working a puzzle or engaged in a fierce battle of bridge! Walk onto the main deck from the living area, the master bedroom or the sun room and wile away the hours bird watching or lounging in sun or shade. Clear nights on the deck treat you to a fabulous array of stars you can never get in the city! Upstairs, let your imagination carry you away in one of three themed bedrooms, all with queen beds. Open the ancient looking door in each bedroom, and find yourself in a roomy closet designed to make your stay more comfortable. In the shared bath, relax with a dual head shower and appreciate the unusual natural marble counter. Fairies enchant the first room and will surely grant you sweet dreams. Slip into the hand carved mahogany queen bed and float away to pleasant places from your childhood reveries. See if you can find the hidden mirror. It is said that everyone who looks in this mirror looks upon beauty. In the Oklahoma bunk room, snuggle into one of the two queen beds, wrap yourself in a down comforter and lay your head, not on a saddle, but on a lovely, soft pillow. When you wake, you may even find yourself humming “Oh what a beautiful morning!” Next is the prince’s bedroom with secret access to the castle keep. Only the most agile of knights and bravest of ladies will climb the hidden ladder and be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the lake. On winter afternoons, this perch is eye level to bald eagles who are hunting!. In summer, feel the coolness as you descend to the lower level game-room. Enjoy a game on the regulation size pool table, air hockey, or perhaps just a cozy nap on one of the couches. Maybe a movie on the large screen TV suits you, or perhaps you prefer to indulge yourself in the large steam room. Walk out to the cool lower deck and sip lemonade or swing gently in the unique suspended bed. A short walk from the castle brings you to the summer house, right at waters edge. In its shelter, nap in a suspended bed or picnic in style with a sink, refrigerator and gas grill at you fingertips. Play Huckleberry Finn and jump off the private dock into the secluded, deep water cove for a refreshing swim or sit and fish to your hearts content. For the more adventurous, boating, water skiing, jet skis or even para-sailing are available nearby. Locally, you can go horseback riding, play golf or visit one of the many interesting galleries or antique stores just a 15 minute drive into town. Spend the day exploring along paved roads on the grounds or revive the art of conversation while you relax on the front terrace swing. Mint juleps anyone? This respite is available all year around and with the four beautiful seasons of Oklahoma’s Green Country, anytime is a great time to visit!
