The carriage house is a beautiful, architect-designed apartment 2 miles from Longwood Gardens and 6 miles from Winterthur and Brandywine River Museum--you cannot find a more convenient location for exploring the Brandywine Valley. You'll enjoy the charm of an historic property nestled in expansive gardens along with the privacy of your own separate space/entrance. The house offers country views from every window. With easy access to Kennett Square and Wilmington for restaurants and entertainment, this property combines the best of old and new. The kitchen is stocked with cooking and tableware, and includes stainless appliances, a microwave, soapstone counter top and eating counter with stools. A smart television offers cable and Netflix. Upstairs amenities include a spacious bedroom with a queen bed and plenty of storage space, a bath with pedestal sink and tile shower, plus washer and dryer. The property has a wildflower meadow (spring to fall) with honeybee hives, walking paths, gardens and outdoor seating areas. There is a very private seating/dining area in the corner of the yard. Access the paths by walking around the carriage house. We live across the driveway but the space is quite private and we leave you alone unless needed. We have a corgi puppy who may greet you enthusiastically if you are outside. She is all love and affection, but may jump up until she is more mature. Please do not let her do this. Thanks. The apartment is not handicap accessible and not intended for children, however, I can sometimes make an exception and do have an air mattress. If so, there is an additional fee regardless of age.
