Enjoy your own private Cottage & fire pit right on the Mohican River, with Canoeing, Kayaking, Tubing, Mohican Forest Hiking, Zip lining, Go Carts, Putt Putt golf & Mountain Biking all close by. Imagine your morning coffee enjoying the peacefulness of the river on our screened in porch. In which later in the day you can have a picnic right on the river. Pleasant hill lake is close by with boating, fishing & swimming. Keep an eye out for Eagles flying down the river or nesting along the river. Two bedrooms and one bath for couples, families and friends to relax and enjoy nature. Our cozy beds with 2" toppers make for a comfortable night sleep. Kitchen is equipped with Frig, oven, toaster, k cup coffee & regular coffee maker, dishes, pots, pans and all the essentials. You can play corn hole and badminton on the lawn. Go canoeing, rafting, kayaking or tubing with one of the local liveries or you can launch your own canoe or kayak right at the cottage and float down the river to Greer landing about 2 hours, you will have to have your own pick up it's a 10 to 15 minute drive down to Greer. Enjoy the beautiful fall foliage of Mohican, the gorge is breathtaking. Full size sleeper sofa is third bed. Please note we do not have internet, although we do have satellite TV and a DVD player with movies, we hope that you will enjoy the company of your family and friends and enjoy nature and your time together. We have hummingbird feeders outside of the enclosed porch for bird watching, they are very fun to watch. The land upon which the cottage is located was originally populated by Native Americans from the Delaware nation of tribes along with a remnant of the Connecticut Mohegan (Mohican). By the early 1800's as the State of Ohio was being established. European settlers were sold large tracts of land to help develop the new western frontier. Today, Mohican country is known as the outdoor adventure capital of Ohio, escape into the beautiful hills of Ohio. The Mohican area features canoeing, hiking, biking, golf, boating, fishing, zip lining and a host of other outdoor activities. One of the largest Amish communities in the USA is located just 30 minutes east of the cottage. Take a day trip to Amish country to enjoy wonderful shopping, Amish made goods, antiquing, tour an Amish farm, experience Amish Cuisine and take in the breathtaking Ohio Amish countryside. Mohican State Park and the adjacent 4,525-acre state forest are outstanding in their beauty. The breath-taking Gorge, hemlock forest, covered bridge, Lyons Falls and scenic Mohican River offer much to see and explore. Be sure to visit the fall foliage of the gorge and forest, the beauty is amazing. Downtown Loudonville offers quaint shops with items from local artists, try Stella's Ice cream and coffee shop and the Blackfork Bistro for a wonderful lunch, dinner and adult beverage. Dinner at the Copper Mug at Landoll's Mohican Castle is a wonderful fine dining experience, especially outside on the patio, call for reservations. Malabar Farm is the home of Pulitzer Prize winning author Louis Bromfield. Visitors can tour the house and working farm with chickens, goats and cattle. The natural features of Malabar farm are representative of the diversity of the glaciated Allegheny Plateau region of Ohio. Lauren Bacall actress and Humphrey Bogart were married at Malabar Farm. Malabar Farm Restaurant is a special treat for lunch or dinner, reservations suggested.
