You’ll be surrounded by local artwork by several artists within the house such as multiple pieces from the local art gallery Roan & Black and artist Bowen Kline. Relax on the back deck and start up the grill all while listening to the trickling sounds of the water fountain. Our rental agreement is included prior to completing your reservation and will supersede the cancellation policies listed on some booking sites. Cancellation Policy: We hope you never will need to cancel your time away, but in the event that you do, guests are advised that within 48 hours of making the reservation you will be able to cancel with no charge. Any cancellation prior to 30 days before check in will result in a $149 processing fee. Cancellations between 7-30 days will result in a 50% forfeiture of total reservation plus a $149 processing fee. Cancellation within 7 days prior to check in will result in a 100% forfeiture of the total reservation. The Hamilton is located just a 5 minute drive into downtown Douglas and downtown Saugatuck. Enjoy strolling Center Street and hitting all the restaurants and shops these quaint towns have to offer. From Douglas' famous antique shops to locally roasted coffee, jam and jelly shops. There is no shortage of fabulous places to ignite the senses. After spending a day checking out the neighborhood, take a nice walk to hop on the Saugatuck Chain Ferry. In service since 1838, this little boat is chain pulled across the Kalamazoo River and plops you right in the heart of Saugatuck. With this towns huge art scene, boasting various art festivals throughout the summer season, you are sure to find a treasure for you or a loved one back home. Saugatuck allows open container in the "social district" off Butler and Water Streets. Enjoy a beverage from one of the local watering holes and feel free to bring it with you as you walk the riverfront. Get outside and enjoy the nature that the area has to offer! With the two beach cruiser bikes that come included with your stay and a plethora of wooded foot and bike trails that lead to the beach, take a pep step through the dunes to find your perfect sunset over Lake Michigan. Prefer something that requires a bit less exertion? Head over to one of the local wineries or breweries to test taste some of the yumminess that Michigan has to offer. With its 5 bedrooms and various pull outs/trundles, it can easily accommodate a couple families. The main level will have a master bedroom with a king size bed and a nice seating area with a pullout sofa. Full bath is located across from the main level master. Headed into the living space of the main level you will find a couple comfy seating areas complete with a fireplace and built in bookcases that showcase some local art/sculptures. The kitchen boasts a 10 foot island with seating as well as a full dining table in the center of the room and a kitchen table off to the side. Step out onto the deck for a nice grill out while you listen to the trickling of the water fountain in the pond. The second level will have three bedrooms. Another master bedroom with a seating area and a gorgeous en suite bathroom. The master bath has a free standing tub complete with luxurious products from our local Wicked Soaps Co. along with a standing, glass enclosed, rain shower and double vanity. Another bedroom with a king bed a beautiful vaulted ceilings is situated next to a guest bedroom with a full bed and trundle. There is another full bath just across from these bedrooms as well. The second story will have a large seating area with a oversized ottoman, perfect for those family game nights! A full wet bar is located in this area as well. Huge floor to ceiling windows allow light to spill into this second level living room. Head up to the lofted area, complete with two computers and all of your office needs just in case you need to get a little work done during your stay. When your tired of clicking away at the keyboard, plop down on one of the bean bags for a little break. Downstairs you'll find another bedroom with two twin beds, a large seating area surrounding a television, and a full size ping pong table for those nights you want to get a little family competition going. The kitchen is fully stocked with all of your essentials plus some! You'll find a variety of pots and pans, serving platters, various types of glassware, storage containers, cooking utensils, bake-ware, and cooking appliances such as a crock pot and griddle. You will also find Olive Oil and Vinegar from Fustini's along with an assortment of spices. The Hamilton is truly a special place filled with many seating nooks and sleeping accommodations and is really a fabulous property for those large family gatherings.
