Dear Guests! Welcome to our accommodations, where memories are made! The beautiful historic 1784 Dension Home, a nautical New England inspiration, is located in the hamlet of Old Mystic, CT, at the head of the Mystic River. This lovely center chimney colonial home is only a short 2-mile ride to the Mystic Seaport, shops, and restaurants. Five well-appointed guest rooms and common rooms are beautifully decorated to bring out the local maritime history! Enjoy seaport history and walk or take a bike ride on the scenic River Road just around the corner from our home! We take great joy in offering warm and welcoming hospitality to our guests visiting this quaint seafaring village, Mystic, CT. Many original features remain throughout this historic gem; wide-planked wooden floors, square head nails, period trim, and a large center chimney offering five working fireplaces! Nautical touches, antiques, modern amenities, and an eye for detail fill each room in the 1784 Dension Home. In honor of the Mystic Seaport Maritime Museum, we named our five Guest Rooms after the five National Registered Historic Vessels that call Mystic their home. Whimsical nautical murals by artist Susan Dwyer Leach grace the walls of the Keeping Room and each Guest Room depicting Mystic history and the vessels the rooms are named after. Five Guest Room Accommodations named in honor of the five National Historic Landmark vessels at the Mystic Seaport Museum: 1. Charles Morgan: Last Wooden Whaleship 2. Joseph Conrad: Full-Rigged Ship 3. L.A. Dunton: Fishing Schooner 4. Sabino: Steamboat 5. Emma C. Traveling dogs can get anxious and confused, causing accidents to happen even for a house-trained dog. ***If your dog pees inside, this will cause a great deal of confusion for future dogs staying at Denison Home as they may pee on top of your dog’s pee, causing an upset for everyone. When arriving, please introduce the yard to your dog straight away to establish where the potty is located.*** 2. Pets are well-behaved and good-natured. 3. Pets are not left alone for more than a few hours. 4. Pets are either crated or quarantined, so they don't roam freely throughout the property when left alone. 5. Owners clean up outside after their pets 6. Owners keep their pets on a leash when appropriate as Mystic is a busy place. 7. We would welcome an image of your pet In addition, we also have the adjacent property, the 1807 Williams property, which consists of two buildings, the Williams Home and the Smith Cottage; both are separate listings and can sleep 14 more guests **not shown in this listing** to accommodate more in your group. We can accommodate twenty-four guests between the two properties; Denison Home-10 guests, Williams Home- 10 guests & Smith Cottage- 4 guests. for reunions and special occasions. Message us if you have questions about reserving both properties to check on availability and pricing. We are sure you would love to stay at the Dension Home, and we would love to host you!
