RavenHouse Tipi is an established and well-loved Airbnb. As new hosts, we are delighted to share this sanctuary. We welcome you to experience the northern winds gently rolling off the Cerrillos Hills while the ravens and hummingbirds exchange notes in a spectrum of keys. There is something romantic about residing inside the canvas of the tipi, connecting you more closely with the elements. The tipi lodge is luxuriously rustic with a double futon bed and sitting area with a table. Features: Fast, free wifi, power to charge your devices, and a lantern with an additional USB port. Follow a short path to the shaded picnic area, play a game of horseshoes, find a meditation bench, campfire pit, and the fully plumbed bathroom and outdoor shower. Be advised 2 friendly dogs live on-premises. Ruby the golden retriever may make a big stink but is generally harmless. Frankie Taco is small in stature and full of gusto. The dogs are enclosed during the day but may be seen out roaming from time to time and will likely come say hi. If you don’t like dogs, please consider not booking with us. Please do not come up on back deck to visit the doggies at the gate. You are welcome to come around to front door and ring the bell and I can offer you a tour of the chicken coop and garden and my contemporary painting studio ( (Website hidden by Airbnb) or to say hi to my goofy dogs. Keep in mind that depending on the season, nights can be cool and days very warm. If it rains a lot the tipi canvas flooring will get wet in spots, bring flip flops in case. As the tipi is up on a deck it doesn't get dirty..just a bit wet. Please bring your own drinking water, although our water is technically drinkable, I don't prefer it. Please - NO EARLY ARRIVAL- text/ call first need be. During the school year Tuesdays check in is after 5:30 unless otherwise discussed. We are thirty minutes from Santa Fe and one hour from the Albuquerque airport. The nearest gas station is 10 miles away. The historic village of Cerrillos includes the Cerrillos Station, featuring a gallery and general market, and The Black Bird Saloon. Stop into Mary’s Bar, in operation since 1936, and say hi to Kathy, the daughter of Mary. You might walk into an impromptu jam with fiddles and guitars or you may find a couple donkeys and horses tied to the hitching post outside this community treasure. The eclectic village of Madrid is 10 minutes away, a vibrant artist haven with galleries, a soda fountain, bar and a couple restaurants. Occasionally I am happy to meet and chat! More often I will likely step out onto my deck and wave to you and say hello. Feel free to text me anytime with questions or needs. You are welcome to access the tipi with self check in - there is no lock box - Airbnb just didn’t have an option for me to put unlocked:). The Cerrillos Hills has been a mining mecca for hundreds of years. Explore five miles of hiking and horseback riding trails and check out some of the mines. Enjoy fine dining and great atmosphere at the Blackbird Saloon open Thursday through Sunday in the old village of Cerrillos. There is a farmers market in Cerrillos at the town market on Thursday evenings and a sweet petting zoo where you can feed the animals. Madrid is a vibrant artist haven with cute shops and eateries located less than 10 minutes from our property. Visit the host's artwork at Jezebel Gallery. 30 minutes from Santa Fe and one hour from Albuquerque airport. Please be advised to BRING DRINKING WATER. You may drink the Cerrillos community well water from the spigot by the rv spot need be, I don't like to drink it personally, but some do drink it. Private deck outside your door, enjoy the local wildlife: lizards, road runners, hummingbirds, dragon flies and hawks and of course raven sightings. Elkins Trail/Cerrillos Hills State Park access right outside the property. We can also offer RV parking and/or a tent site.
