Our family farm 5 min. from town located at the beginning of Scenic Hwy. Rt. 15. not far from I75 off of I64. It is surrounded by relaxation & beauty of the farm also close to: Lexington (20min) Historic Sites Shop & Dine Keeneland Ky Bourbon Trail & Wineries Red River Gorge(35min): rope courses, ziplining, hiking, kayaking & rock climbing. Sky lift to one of the largest Natural Bridges Fort Boonsboro(15min) Local eateries & historical sites(5min) Noah's Ark(1hr) Creation Museum(104mi) We have a unique setting with family heirlooms from generations past to be explored throughout the Ranch style farmhouse built in 1979 which has been updated. Bill is a descendant of the first family of Clark County. which came here in the late 1700s. We are a working cattle farm. We welcome friends & families with children. We have children’s spaces set up for them to enjoy as well. If you so desire, we love to answer questions about farming as we know it and share in the story of our country's history through items in our home. Coming into the home is a den like area with a full futon, daybed and trundle. TV, games are located there. Walking into the heart of the home is the kitchen and dining. The bedrooms are located in the back. There is also a formal dinning room. Enjoy reading or the quiet along with the beautiful views of the farm in the front sitting room or from the large front porch. These areas also make great spots for relaxing chats with warm beverages. During your stay you may get to meet Midnight, our donkey, Smokey, our barn cat or see some cute baby calves. This beautiful country setting is five minutes from the I64. It is not far from I75 close to Winchester right in the heart of some of Kentucky's finest attractions. Come and enjoy the serenity of the farm life while not being too far away for you to enjoy the action of Lexington (20min) or the breathtaking beauty of the Mountains of Appalachia(35min). Entire space listed is yours privately. We tend to the farm behind the guest house. The farm surrounds the guest home. There is a large yard and places to sit and enjoy the yard in good weather. The house is cozy & warm with lots of windows make it easy to enjoy the outdoors from the warmth of inside during winter. There are 2 parking spaces at the top of the circle drive located in front of a double garage and a gravel parking space in front of a private entrance as well. RV parking or Trailer Parking can be arranged. Our home is located behind our guest house on the property. We have an outdoor space for a bond fire weather permitting. The front porch with 2 swings, a large yard and beautiful views are for your private enjoyment as well. There is a separate living space that is attached and sectioned off in the home. It can be rented by itself (Cozy Cottage at Franklin Ridge Farms) or along with (Family & Friends Franklin Ridge Farm Getaway). These are both separate listings. When you book this particular listing, the other listings are not rented to anyone else. Therefore, the space you have rented is private for you. Interaction is based on what the guests desire. We are a working farm with animals to attend too. We enjoy meeting people, showing the farm, fireside chats or introducing some farm animals in good weather. We also understand sometimes guests want space to rest, connect with family or have other time constraints seeing attractions or traveling to different destinations so we don't mind giving our guests space too. Our community is located in between some of the world's most amazing natural beauty in Kentucky's Red River Gorge and the exciting city buzz of Lexington. Our home is at the start of one of Kentucky's Scenic Drives on 15 It is also a few minutes from the interstate. Our home is surrounded by the farm. We are however close to town with easy access to I64 and not far from I75 The farm has many spaces for parking. Our town has a car rental service not far from our home approx. 9miles, Enterprise Car Rental. There are local taxi services. We are also 20 to 25 minutes from Lexington which has several services. 1. We know of several local places a few minutes from us if you are needing to bring your fur babies along on your trip. I can give you the names and you will need to make the arrangements to check them in before arrival to our guest home. Contact us for information. 2. We have working cattle dogs on the property. They may bark on arrival. However, they are not heard overnight in the main house and are kept in their large working barn when guests are here. They are a one family bread very protective and not in contact with other people. They are not fully socialized and can be choosey who they take to. 3. The office space also has a full-size futon which can be set up for an extra sleeping space. (12-inch-thick futon which is comfier than most) 4. We use zipped mattress protectors in conjunction with fitted mattress protectors along with antimicrobial sheets to help our guests enjoy a more sanitary and comfortable night's sleep. 5. Our ice maker is not working. However, we have individually packed ice for guests as needed. 6. We have bottled water, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and juice along with snack amenities upon arrival to help you relax from your travels. We often have farm fresh eggs as well when we have laying chickens. There is a small local grocery, Save a Lot good for milk and small or quick fix items only a couple minutes alongside with small local restaurants downtown. The main grocery,Kroger, Walmart and other larger stores are only about 10 minutes away. Restaurants are there as well.
