The Ish House- 3 bedrooms close to RAMBA trails
Your whole group will be comfortable in this spacious and unique space, located on the 2nd and 3rd floor of what was once one of Ishpeming's drug stores. Three bedrooms with queen or double beds plus a "mini" futon (about 5'6" long). Sleeps 6 if you share beds, but we do charge extra for over 2 guests. Full kitchen and laundry room. Locked bike storage on the first floor. RAMBA trail heads are within a mile in multiple directions. Iron Ore Heritage Trail, restaurants and shops are blocks away. This a very spacious (1800sf) apartment. Lots of space for gathering, playing games and cooking. All three bedrooms are large and have dressers for storage. Two bedrooms have a shared walk-through closet. Game area and a variety of games are located in a common area outside the three bedrooms. Please be advised the bedrooms are on the third floor and the bathroom is on the second floor so stairs do have to be navigated to use the restroom at night. Easy walk to all downtown businesses and trails. Free parking is available on the street May-October, but you may have to park around the corner or across the street, especially if you bring multiple cars. If you are not willing to do this you will not be happy with this location. If you block anyone’s garage, including ours, to be close to the door you will be ticketed or towed. Two free off-street parking spots are provided two blocks away from November-April. Street parking overnight is not allowed during these months. Additional off street parking spots can be purchased from the city for $1 a day during this time. Owner lives in separate apartment on first floor. We're going to be honest. Ishpeming is not Marquette. It's not a suburb of Marquette. It's an old mining town that saw its population boom in the 1900's. Most of the buildings are over 100 years old. The house next to ours has a boarded up window. Sometimes the neighbors across the street get drunk and fight. However, if you can see past that, here's what you might experience: A nice gentleman named Jim, who takes his daily walks by our house just so he can check on the place and chat. A little boy named Jason, who will ride by on his bike and show off a wheelie or two. Pam, the former librarian across the street who will give your kids bookmarks. If your car needs help, Terry at Old Ish Auto will fix it for the most reasonable price you'll get anywhere in the country. Spencer at West End will do the same for your bike. If you wander into Main St. Antiques, David will treat you like family and if you're lucky enough to get the best sour Old Fashioned of your Iife from Ryan at Congress Pizzas, he just might share his secret sand fly repellent remedy with you while he makes it. This is why we love our neighborhood. We hope you love it too. There is no off street parking available at this location. You will park on the street from May-October and in a lot two blocks away November-April. If you bring more than one car in the summer/fall months one of them will have to be parked across the street or around the corner. You may not block our garage or anyone else’s just to be close to the house. This is a neighborhood. We all need to respect each other. We have had multiple issues with this. Please do not book this apartment if you need to have your car right outside your door. There is a two car maximum from November-April. This apartment is on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the building. Entry to the apartment requires going up a large set of stairs. Locked storage for bikes or other heavy items is provided on the first floor.
