Stay in a comfy forest cottage nestled in a garden in a historic district in Palestine (PAL-es-teen), Texas, where you can relax by the fire in a beautiful garden or poolside under an umbrella! You’ll have close access to the restaurants, museums, boutiques, and outdoor activities that this little east Texas town has to offer. In November and December, we do not offer stays greater than 1 week, the rest of the year we offer up to 2 weeks stays. Nestled in a gorgeous historic neighborhood in an idyllic garden is this cottage, where you can relax and escape. Downstairs is the kitchenette, living room, and half bath. The space is great for pictures to remember your trip by! Tag is using #enchantedcottagepalestine! Upstairs is a queen bed, two twin beds, and a full bath with shower. We supply complementary Keurig coffee, water, and hot cocoa. Pack and Play for babies/toddlers available by request. Let us know what to do to make your stay cozy! In addition to the entire cottage, you may use the grounds and enjoy the swimming pool approximately March through October. We live in the main house and are always available by knock, call, or text. We also use the backyard and the pool. We try to greet our guests when they arrive, but if we are not available, self check-in is quick and easy! Right next to Reagan Park, with a splash pad in the summer for kids. In the middle of a historic neighborhood, a walk around the block is a treat for any causal architecture enthusiast. We have several museums close by, including East Texas History and the Texas State Railroad Museum. Downtown is within half a mile, with numerous antique shops, restaurants, coffee and dessert shops, all with the small town mom and pop feel. Farmer’s Markets are open most of the year on Saturdays until 2:00pm. A large attraction is the Texas State Railroad, which is minutes away. There are year-round train rides, but the Polar Express during Christmas is extra special. You will need a car to get in and around Palestine, you can park in the driveway by the entry gate or along the street. There is a dog on property, but we will keep her in the main house or in the front yard while we have guests.
