A private little cabin (fully furnished) for traveling professionals working locally. Cottontail Haven Lodge is perfect for you! A 31 day minimum-110 day maximum rental. Enjoy a comfortable stay near Lake Tapps & the towns of Sumner, Bonney Lake, Puyallup, Auburn, Enumclaw, Federal Way, Tacoma. 10 minutes to major freeways. Near area hospitals, White River Amphitheather, State Fairgrounds & more! The resident "rogue bunnies" will welcome you-they're the REAL owners of the cabin! Your cabin in the woods is about 580 sq ft, built in 2008 with hand-peeled logs, remodeled as a guest house & Airbnb-ready in December 2016. Resident bunnies will "hang out" with you. They love to be talked to & photographed. Colorful hummingbirds will feed right in front of your rocking chair on the porch. The gentle deer are more elusive, but watch for them as they quietly walk past the cabin. Bushy gray squirrels scamper around the yard & would love a peanut or two. Yes, we have Bald Eagles & huge owls, too. IMPORTANT NOTE: The guest who books the stay MUST be the guest who checks in for the key & will be living in the cabin during the whole stay. All adults must be at the check in meeting prior to getting a key. All the essentials for a relaxing stay: (see pictures) * King-size Select Comfort bed with dual control heated mattress pad. Bed has either winter soft cotton flannel sheets or comfy cool summer Cariloha exquisite soft bamboo sheets. * Bathroom with sink, toilet, shower (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel) * 40" flat screen TV, digital antenna, DVR, WiFi, but no cable TV. * Board games, puzzles & playing cards in the "Games Box". * DVD movies & player (we have a lot of movies in our main house library, just ask) * Keurig coffee maker with coffee *Electric kettle with tea * Small crockpot, toaster, pots pans NutriBullet blender, waffle maker, kitchen utensils, seasonings * Clean towels, washcloths, hand towels * Washer/Dryer with small supply of detergent & fabric softner * Hair dryer, clothes hangers * Electronics charging station/desktop This cabin on a knoll is on it's own 1.3 acres with a circular driveway, ample parking for 2 cars & a large unfenced yard, all surrounded by meadow-like grass, trees & pastures. The front porch is a favorite place to relax while sitting in the four comfortable rocking chairs with a nearby small table for your refreshments. A propane BBQ grill is available in Spring/Summer seasons. A fire pit with surrounding seats & log tables makes evenings memorable as you roast a few marshmallows. With a keypad door lock personalized for you, the cabin is for your exclusive use during your stay. Feel free to walk up the road for a chat with your hosts and visit with the "neighborhood bunnies" who run around everywhere. We are proud to talk about our organic vegetable garden, feel free to take home some in-season fresh produce, too. You have a fire pit area available, host can supply fire making supplies and show you the woodshed (just down the bunny trail). In Summer, please check with host about possible local burn bans before lighting a fire. If you have a very late arrival flight, CONTACT HOST for a possible FLEXIBLE CHECK-IN TIME. I will meet you at the cabin for a quick tour at check in time & will be otherwise available for questions throughout your stay. There is a binder in the cabin with lists of "things to do-places to see". I can give advice about local restaurants, area shopping for groceries & places of interest. Text or call me... or just walk down the road to the main house for a visit. Our neighborhood is "rural-looking" with pastures, rabbits, spring-time ducks, bald eagles, owls, squirrels & deer as neighbors. On a gravel road but 10-15 minutes drive to highways & freeways. Close to beautiful Lake Tapps, the county's largest recreational lake with 2 public parks with beaches, paddle boat and board rentals at the lake. (seasonal entry & not within walking distance) There is a well-traveled road behind the cabin (which sits on a high bank). Most guests tell me their home has more noise than the cabin. Only 10 mins drive to either quaint downtown Sumner, Bonney Lake or Lakeland Hills for shopping and restaurants. 15 minutes to Puyallup - WA State fairgrounds and events, many local hospitals within 25 mins. An hour in either direction will get you to ski resorts on Snoqualmie Pass or Crystal Mountain. 2 hours to Paradise Mt Rainier, less than an hour to Seattle or the White River Amphitheater for concerts & half that time to downtown Tacoma (try the train!) There is no public transportation at the cabin, Uber and Taxi service is available. Train/bus station is in downtown Sumner, 15 mins drive. In effort to comply with COVID cleaning rules, perishable food & treats are no longer provided at the cabin but information about local grocery stores, restaurants (etc) is in the "cabin book'. * There is NO SMOKING OR BURNING ANYTHING ANYWHERE INSIDE log cabin. Including cigars, cigarettes, e-cigs, cannabis or candles. Smoking on covered porch or around fire pit is allowed with respectful disposal of cigarette butts (please ask for a special disposal can.) And safety being of utmost importance. *The guest making the reservation MUST be the guest who checks-in, is issued the key and will stay in the cabin for the entire reservation. *There is no dishwasher, no cable at the cabin. Internet service installed January 2018. *Remember: NO PETS or animals of any type are allowed on the property at any time, even leashed. No animals inside the cabin due to serious medical allergies in host's family. The local "rogue" rabbits do NOT come into the cabin. Remediation cleaning costs upwards of $1000 & would be charged to guest for allowing animals inside cabin (even for short time). *Upon arrival, please review the binder of "Cabin Rules, Items of Interest, Day Trip Ideas". * Garbage can is behind cabin, guest responsibility to take garbage bags to road before once a week or before full.
