Close proximity to parks, shops & dining. Easy access to the Island Hwy. Minutes to all city amenities, 30 mins to ski hill. The harbour is perfect for fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking & walks along the Royston Seaside Trail located at the property’s edge. Whether you are looking for tranquility of being next to the ocean and enjoying all that has to offer for a spring/summer getaway...Or a winter ski getaway at Mount Washington just 30 mins drive with a hot tub awaiting your return...Or a relaxing quiet setting next to an amazing seaside walking trail...Paradise by the Sea offers all that and more. Sorry, no pets of any size allowed. This is noted in the house rules but stating this in the description as I still get inquiries asking if my suite is pet friendly. Suite consists of bedroom with a queen size bed, 4 piece bathroom, living room with TV and kitchenette. The suite accommodates a maximum of 2 adults and is completely private to guests. Sorry, no children. There is a sofa bed in case the 2 adults require separate sleeping arrangements. In that case please give me the heads up to ensure bedding for the sofa bed is included for your stay…thanks. Kitchenette includes a sink, hot plate, pots & frying pans, microwave, Keurig, kettle, toaster, electric corked wine bottle opener (an old-fashioned opener is also provided in the suite) and a USB plug for phone charging. A 5-1 Ninja grill/bake/broil/dehydrate/air fryer has been added to provide more optionality for cooking. K-cups, individually wrapped tea bags, individual sugar packets (white & brown) and 2 bottles of water are provided for your convenience. There is a nice patio area outside the entrance which includes a hot tub, sitting area and electric BBQ, all private to guests of the suite. The next phase of my renovation is replacing the deck. For now there is a lower deck area with an additional outside sitting area that is made available for use by guests…a great way to enjoy the spectacular view! Free on-site parking at the front of the property. Use the paved roundabout when entering and exiting the property, please no driving on the grass…thanks. Fire pit for use, please bring your own firewood. Also, check if there is a fire ban in the area before using the firepit. Motion lights are placed to light up the walking path to the suite after dark. There is also a battery operated portable light, placed on ledge to right of kitchenette sink near entrance, for use outside at night. An umbrella is placed on hook inside entrance for your use during your stay in case it rains. If used please ensure it is dry before closing and returning to umbrella bag...thanks. The beach is off the harbour and the tides are quite noticeable. Check out Comox tide charts online to know when best to go kayaking/paddle boarding. When the tide is out a nice walk can be had on the tidal flats. Please check the tide chart before venturing out onto the flats as the water can come in fast. It is not a sandy beach so if you are looking for sand then head to nearby Goose Spit Park. Beach towels are provided and can be found in the linen closet. The only shared part of the property is the backyard (including the fire pit) which is shared with me when I am there. Paradise by the Sea, Courtenay, BC can be searched on (Hidden by Airbnb) Maps. If you find the temperature in apartment too hot or too cold please let me know via text and I can adjust the thermostat. There is a portable electric tower heater provided for your comfort. It is stored in the bedroom. A laundry basket is placed in the bedroom for used towels. Everyday millions of gallons of water is used to wash towels that have only been used once. It is recommended you use your bath towel twice, hang to dry and then place in laundry basket. We all need to work to Save our Planet. Remove bed sheets and place in laundry basket. Fold bed spread and blanket and place on bed... thanks Due to strict Covid cleaning protocol thorough cleaning and sanitizing is completed after each stay by a cleaning service trained in providing this service. Although the cleaning cost exceeds the suite’s cleaning fee, to stay competitive and offer my guests a fair price, this extra expense is not passed onto the guests. Please check out the GuideBook for lists of suggestions of what the area has to offer...restaurants, golfing, hikes, parks, pubs/breweries, wineries, day trips and more... Guest access to hot tub, outside sitting area and BBQ. I can be reached via Airbnb messaging, email or text and will respond promptly. Contact options will be provided to guests. The property looks out over Comox Harbour with the Comox Marina directly across the harbour. The Royston Seaside Trail is at the base of the property and continues along the seaside to Royston, a small segment of the trail deviates from the sea to be connected via Marine Drive in Royston. The trail has information posted along the trail on the history, fauna and wildlife in the area. Property is located off Island Hwy and a short drive to Courtenay, Comox, Royston and Cumberland. Lots of great nearby restaurants and 10 mins drive to the Kingfisher Spa. Campbell River is 30mins North. Mount Washington is 30mins away. Departure Bay Ferry Terminal in Nanaimo is 1hr 10mins drive South. Victoria and Tofino are both about 3 hrs drive. These can both be done in a day trip (I’ve done it!), but it makes for a long day. The guest book provided in the suite lists lots to see and do in the area. Several golf courses within a short drive. The popular Crown Isle Golf course is a beautiful course located in the City of Courtenay. Downtown Courtenay is on 5th Street and offers boutique shopping, cafes and restaurants. Hot Chocolates is located on this street. In addition to amazing chocolates it offers ice cream, great coffee, sandwiches, desserts and a café to sit and enjoy a lunch. As with many places in the valley they are closed on Mondays. Also, 2 wineries in the area that offer wine tasting; 40 Knots and Beaufort. Both are offering tastings by appointment only during this time due to COVID. Nearby community of Cumberland offers legendary mountain biking with an extensive network of biking trails. Land & Sea Brewery in Comox is new to the area. It’s a great place to go to enjoy a flight to sample their beers. They also offer a few food choices. My favorite burger is the Filburger at Church Street Taphouse in Comox. Lots of great beers to go with the burger. I have been informed Roy’s Pub in nearby Royston also serves an amazing burger. For pizza there are 2 awesome choices that are unique to the valley. Riders Pizza in Cumberland (my favorite) and Pizzeria Guerrilla in Courtenay. Riders is closed Mondays & Tuesdays. Guerrilla’s is closed Saturdays & Sundays. Due to COVID-19 both Pizzerias are take-out only. The Cumberland Brewing Company is located across the street from Riders Pizza. It is closed on Mondays. Kayak and paddle board rentals are 3.4km away in Courtenay and offer great opportunity to paddle around Comox Harbour and up the Courtenay River. Airbnb lists the White Whale Restaurant but it is temporarily closed.
