The house was built by and has been home for the same family for over a century. It is winterized, clean, private and comfortable. Recent upgrades include new roof, exterior paint and insert windows. The yard is spacious and private. The house is within a short distance of several public beaches (Northport, Heather's, Gulf Shore, Blue Sea), two golf courses (Northumberland Links and Fox Harb'r), and a ski hill (Ski Wentworth). The property has a trail that leads through the woods to a back road from which there is access to the Trans Canada Trail. It is great for cross country skiing, hiking, snowshoeing and ATVing. It also has a fire pit, great celestial views and wildlife sightings. The owner operates a business one km. down the road and is knowledgeable in most local affairs and available. Pugwash is a beautiful Village that has a great Farmers Market, summer festivals, bustling harbour (salt tankers, lobster boats and yachts), seaside park. Pugwash River is great for kayaking and has the Pugwash Peace Trail along part of its edge. Much of its shoreline is protected and undeveloped property. It's best to have a car. There is no public transportation but the Village is within walking distance, a one hour walk.
