BUSES RUN EVERY 20 MINUTES FROM THE ENTRANCE TO THE RACQUET CLUB INTO ALL LAKESIDE AREAS CABS ARE ALWAYS AVAILABLE DO NOT RELY ON GPS ONCE YOU GET INTO THE RACQUET CLUB AS IT IS NOT RELIABLE. WHEN YOU COME UP THE MAIN STREET (RAUL RAMERIZ), GO LEFT ONTO PANCHO GONZALEZ....GPS WILL TELL YOU TO GO RIGHT WHICH IS INCORRECT AND WILL GET YOU CONFUSED....ITS HOUSE NUMBER 20 You will have use of the entire Casita including the custom designed private pool area, sunning 16 inch deep wading pool, solar heated jacuzzi and outdoor bar area. Buses run every 15 minutes from the Racquet Club entrance and will take you anywhere lakeside. Cabs are also available inexpensively but are problematic after 10 in the evening. Pesos is the accepted current currency and other currencies are rarely accepted. For the best exchange rates use the ATMs (including the ones at the airport) are are readily available as the airport exchange booth rates tend to be not as favorable. Also be sure to notify your debit and credit card companies that you will be in Mexico so you don't run into any problems. Be advised that some businesses charge a 4-6% upcharge for the use of cards. BE SURE TO HAVE PESOS FOR RESTAURANTS, SHOPPING, ETC. AS DOLLARS ARE RARELY ACCEPTED. IF THEY ARE YOU WILL GET A HORRIBLE EXCHANGE RATE. THE EXCHANGE RATE BOOTHS AT THE AIRPORT ARE ALSO NOT VERY FAVORABLE. IT WOULD BE BEST IF YOU USED AN ATM FOR THE BEST EXCHANGE RATE (THE ONES AT THE AIRPORT ARE OK), AND BE SURE TO NOTIFY YOUR BANK THAT YOU WILL BE IN MEXICO SO YOU DON'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS USING YOUR DEBIT AND CREDIT CARDS. CASH IS THE PREFERED METHOD OF PAYMENT, AND THERE COULD BE A 4-6% UPCHARGE IF YOU USE A CARD. If you are bringing a dog, there is a new law, effective Jan. 1, 2017, about bringing animals into Mexico. You must have an International Health Certificate, the Vet must not only certify that the dog has a current rabies shot with a copy of the rabies vaccination, but also must certify that it is free of internal parasites (worms) and the dates that it has been taking medication for this (Heartguard Plus) AND external parasites (fleas, ticks) and the dates it has taken medication for this (Bravecto). A copy of the Vets license must also be a part of the package.
