Set on a safe and private few acres in the mountain town of Smithers, BC, the little Red Cottage in the cleared back acres with views straight up to Hudson Bay Mountain peaks. Kathlyn Creek meanders through the property making for great summer retreats and winter adventures. It may be a " Tiny house" but a loft and en-suited bedroom make for a cozy getaway for family or friends. The kitchenette is stocked for your first few mornings. The cottage is Covid safe deep cleaned after every stay. Travelers can find a casual quiet space in our Cottage, just enough room for a family of 4 or plenty for two. A loft bed space and a separate room with a Dbl. bed space and a large walk-in shower in the en-suite with heated tiles. The classic Jotul wood-burning stove for winter nights, and two fire pits and barbeque for outdoor use. A warm and quiet space to chill indoors or room to move on our acres to explore summer and winter. Kathlyn Creek meanders the length of the property a perfect family getaway. Freshly laid eggs thanks to our hens, cereals, bread, fresh ground coffee, and accouterments will greet you in the functional compact kitchenette for your morning meal. Antenna-feed TV, Dvd's, high speed-Wi-fi for your lounging pleasure, even a few books and games to relax within the bedroom reading nook (doubles as an infant bed area). Most of our guest review the Cottage as "cozy" Our guests can park near the cottage in summer, albeit in winter a carport is kept exclusively for their use, with plug-in power if needed. The back cleared mowed acres, garden and creek are yours to explore. There is a space to park a large RV, sled trailer, horse float, Semi, whatever your requirements are we'll try to accommodate. No pets sorry,(dogs and cats) unless you keep them in your vehicle or in our heated work-shed just 4 meters from the Cottage ( they love it). Storage for skis, bikes, and motor-homes available too. During these Covid times, we will meet at a distance out front and have the cottage open on arrival. We're always happy to meet and advise our guests on the town, dining, and surrounds. We are active outdoor people loving the mountain life of the north. Smithers is a vibrant Northern Hub township with diverse adventures on offer, check out the Smithers tourism sites for more details. Just up the road is the main 18 hole golf course in summer/ snow shoeing XC skiing in winter. Mountain bike trails galore, a short ride to Kathlyn Lake for summer dips or paddles, skating or XC in winter. We are only 20 minutes to the Ski hill (downhill and XC) and within a hour of world class cat/heli skiing and mountain AT touring destination of Hankin-Evelyn. Snowmobiler's have many choices in this area as well just south and east. Only two minutes to downtown Smithers for great food and eclectic shopping, downtown now has 2 new Craft-brew pubs for your tasting chill-out. The Smithers Brewery and the Bulkley Valley Brewery Car - bike - foot - snow shoes - skis - taxis -no Uber yet. Fifteen-minute bike ride or two-minute drive to town. Twenty five-minute drive to the ski hill, two minutes to the Airport, 4 hrs to Hyder Alaska or Prince Rupert, 12 hrs to Vancouver. Hey kids under the age of 2 (when you arrive) stay Free, no crib onsite sorry. This Past Year Air Bnb is starting to offer "Experiences" worldwide, alternative tours for guests, we are hoping to be involved in this area shortly with bike tours in summer and winter.
