Le cottage by the lake in wine country

Relaxing cottage situated directly across the street from Lake Selby. About 15 minute drive through the backroads to Sutton & Vermont. Perfect for couples or families. Not realistic for parties (My parents live next door) One of the first cottages built by my grandfather overlooking Lake Selby. This is not The Ritz Carleton - the cottage is an older cottage. Please read the description before booking :) Wood interior with wood beams throughout. The main floor is very spacious, the second floor has one master bedroom and one small bedroom with an outdoor balcony. A living room area with TV as well as a sitting area in front of the old fireplace . There is a full kitchen and dining room for sit down meals , there is also a little breakfast table with views of the lake. Confirmation of guest required. Absolutely no extra people over discussed number at the time of booking. Perfect for families who like the outdoors and great fishing. Situated in the heart of wine country. Fabulous restaurants, ski hills, and activities in the area to enjoy :) CITQ - 304475 We have a dock in front of the cottage (across the street) you may sit out and enjoy a coffee or glass of wine (we have chairs next to the dock on shore you can bring out) We have a canoe, rowboat and paddle board for our guests to use. There is seaweed close to shore, I would suggest taking a boat or tube out further out to swim - we also have a floating dock for people to attach the boat and jump off of. There is a little public area with stairs leading to the lake on Wilkinson & Selby 2 mins walking distance from the cottage. Since COVID the town did not put out their dock this year and there is a sign that says no swimming. You can still swim but note there is no lifeguard on duty. Nature walk - Drive to the end of Larose there is a small walking path to the dam. Note if you would like to walk all the way around the lake from the cottage it is an hour and a half walk. Long walking trails and snowshoeing behind the Dunham city hall 12 km away - Cowansville Beach - swimming and splash pad for kids 25 km away - Knowlton Douglas beach - swimming Lake skating rink depending on the weather. Self Check-In Wine country - located just off Le route de Vins. We are surrounded by good restaurants, vineyards, boutiques & hills for skiing and hiking. We allow an animals with no extra charge to our guests.. BUT people have really taken advantage with leaving traces of their animals behind. If you bring your beloved pet please be sure to vacuum before the cleaning lady comes in & clean up after them. We are on a well with limited amount of water consumption. Recently install a water reservoir. Balconies can be dangerous. Back porch redone recently, front porch will be redone in spring 2022. There is a gap between the house and porch - Please watch your step. This is an old cottage and not everything is up to date. Example: not all of the windows are easy to open and close. Some windows have screens that are not custom. Every year we try to make the cottage better , but it cannot all be done at once. Please let me know if you have any questions before booking.
