Relax in this bright and spacious suite during your stay in the Kootenays. Our home is an older work in progress but also a very comfortable and calming space with a quiet cabin feel right in downtown Castlegar. Enjoy mountain views while sipping your morning coffee or watching the colors of the evening sunset from the sun room over looking Mt Sentinel and the Bonnington Range. There is a private front yard with a BBQ to chill-out or play. There are 3 bedrooms in the suite. The bedrooms are set up with a King bed (best bed) in the main room and the sun room has a queen bed(best view)and there is a room with bunk beds(quietest room). There is a full kitchen, washer and dryer and microwave. The smartTV is used for wifi channels and has no cable hook up. If you desire for a long term stay please contact me. This is an fully private upstairs suite with separate entrance from our living area in the basement suite, please respect quiet after 9. Absolutely no parties permitted No smoking No pets Self check in lock on door. The upstairs suite is a completely private unit with separate parking and entrance from the basement unit. All upstairs spaces are available for guest use. During your stay I will be a quick phone call or message away if there are any concerns or questions. ALSO, me and my 2 boys (age 8 and10) live in the separate suite downstairs suite. We like to give our guests space but If we are around during your stay feel free to come say hi and check out the garden if you like! Millennium park and the Columbia/Kootenay river are just a 5 minute walk away from our home. Here you can find beautiful pathways along the river and in the summer the ponds are our favorite close to home swim spot with the kids. There are also many options for coffee and food destinations all a short walk from our home. Kootenay Market, Crumbs Bakery, Trackside Bistro, The Woods, The Cuisine of India, Chopsticks and The Greek Oven are all centrally located. If you enjoy skiing we are situated only 30 minutes from Red Mountain Resort Resort and 40 minutes from Whitewater. For touring options we are a 45 minute drive from the Kootenay Pass and 30 minutes from the Strawberry and Paulson pass, which are also great places to explore on your cross country skis. If you enjoy Mountain Biking we are at the center of it all with the amazing Merry Creek trail system only a 15 minute drive you can be on you bike and riding the best new trails within minutes of leaving home. And then there are all the trail systems that surround Nelson and Rossland both only 30 minutes in either direction. There are many options for rock climbing along the Arrow Lake walls and bolted climbs at the waterline, both locations only a 15 minute drive and the best local climbing in the area. If you are looking for a day trip to soak in the springs Ainsworth is a beautiful 1.5 hour drive and for something more remote Halfway hotsprings or St Leon is a great day trip with gorgeous views at 2 hours from home. In the summer we also LOVE swimming in the warm waters of Arrow lake, floating the Slocan River and exploring the many hiking trails that are in the area. There are so many great places to explore and play just a short distance from here. There are bus stops close by and the city has been working on making Castlegar more biker friendly. If you need to check-in after 8pm please let us know. *When booking please include the amount of people who will be staying in the suite so the proper price is reflected in your total before the reservation is complete. Base price is accommodation for 2 people. Each extra guest over 2 years of age is $20 per person per night up to 6 people max. Discounts will be applied for weekly and monthly stays.
