The Ruby Jean Cottage is a delightful two bedroom, oceanfront cottage. The owners, who reside on the same 3.5 acre property, have lovingly decorated this cottage and offered access across their yard so that their guests can share the gorgeous private sandy beach and large wharf. The main living area is open plan, with the living room, fully equipped kitchen and dining area all enjoying views down to the water. Hardwood floors, luxurious furniture and unique art give this cottage a very homey feeling. There are two lovely bedrooms; one with a queen sized bed and the other with a bunkbed (single over double). The bathroom, with tub/shower combo and a mud room with laundry machines complete this home away from home. Outside, a private deck allows space for reflecting, reading, or cooking on the propane barbeque. Surrounded by beautifully landscaped grounds, the panoramic ocean views will take your breath away. The cottage sits on a large property facing the clear waters of St Margarets Bay. The enormous beachside jetty offers not only superb anchorage but it acts as a breakwater, creating a perfectly sheltered hideaway for family picnics and beach fun. The crystal clear water is great for swimming or cast your line off the wharf and hook a mackerel. The sheltered cove opens up to the deep waters of St. Margaret’s Bay, known for its world-class sailing and beautiful beaches. Walk the property down to the private beach and stone wharf. We live next door to the cottage so are available to ensure your stay is all you expect it to be. Its special because it is so close to bike trails, beaches, large and small, shopping within 10 mins drive and the South Shore A vehicle will make your days easy. A quick drive to public beaches, and historic towns. Or head in to Halifax for culinary delights and big city experiences. There is so much to experience in this area of NS. Bikers can travel 100’s of km of old rail way lines, set up for biking. Rent Kayaks to explore near by islands. Or drive to Chester, Mahone Bay and Lunenberg for maritime small town charm.
