HUMMINGBIRD HAVEN

Hummingbird Haven is a quaint private chalet style cottage, just 400 sq ft on the main floor with another 350 in the lower level walk out. Nestled among pines and oaks with a large deck and dock to enjoy the great outdoors. A perfect writer retreat or romantic get a way. Note: there are several steps down to the dock. Schneider Lake is a small , spring fed inland lake with an abundance of sunfish and blue gill. Fishing, hot tub, kayaking, paddle boating, "unplug" no cable TV or Internet. This is set in the woods on a private dirt road, during rain road has ruts and puddles Cottage has a 32" entry door and sits in the side of a fairly steep hill. Several steps with handrail to open dock. This is "tiny home" living and best suited to individuals looking for tranquility or a romantic couples get-a-way. Home has personal antiques and valuables, not suited for young children or groups. Also great for traveling medical workers. You will receive an e-mail prior to arrival with access information. I am just five miles away in the city of Whitehall. A waiver for use of hot tub and boats must be signed. Please bring your own life jackets, lake is weedy but has a small swimming area. Though remote and peaceful, Hummingbird Haven is just a short five mile drive into Whitehall where there is boutique shopping (don't miss the Hokey Pokey, Pitkins, Posh, Montague's Book Nook, Groove, Annie's, and Figg's) Eatery's (Pikadills, Lipka's Pub 111, Gary's, The Dive, Chambers, Big John's Pizza, Old Channel Inn for Perch) Microbrewery- Fetch, worth seeing! White Lake, Lake MI, great Bike trails! Only eight miles to MI Adventure, five to dunes, hiking & swimming. Short drive north to Rothbury, Silver Lake and Pentwater or South to Muskegon where some event is happening every weekend. Great hiking trails at Muskegon State Park, see the historic Block House, hike the dunes. Swimming at public beaches, Duck Lake State park a short seven mile drive, have lunch at the Red Rooster! Great bike trails from Muskegon to Hart. Kayak Muskegon or White River, Waterdog outfitters can set you up with Kayaks and bikes. Two kayaks, paddle boat, and row boat available for use at the cottage with signed waiver. This is a place to unplug and "disconnect" there is no internet or cable TV, though my phone internet works fine. There is an antenna and a couple channels, also a DVD player and plenty of movies, games and books for rainy days. Bigby coffee shop on Colby is a good visit if you must do business on your laptop (or phone hotspot) Just six miles from MI Adventure theme park and eight from Lake MI beaches. Clealiness and comfort are staples of both Hummingbird Haven and the Colby Studio. High thread count sheets, down and down alternative comforters and pillows.
