The overall property sits on over 5 acres, much of which can be explored by guests. Large cedar and fir trees surround and encompass the property. Nature abounds with various birds and wildlife in the surrounding woods. A true escape to nature....quiet, solitude and relaxation. Recently added outdoor fire table to enjoy the outside and stay warm! The cabin includes a large yard. Host is available by phone, text or email. Indianola lies within the boundaries of the Port Madison Reservation. In 1916, it was a summer/weekend community only reached by steamboat. Today, it is a small, friendly rural village known as a haven for artists. The original 900-foot Indianola Dock was built when the Mosquito Fleet provided the majority of transportation on Puget Sound. Jutting hundreds of feet out into the water, the dock is considered one of the best places in the area to watch the stars or any major celestial event. No moorage, but you can pull up your kayak or canoe. The best way to get to Indianola is by vehicle. Once here you can walk or bike around the area easily. 😀 Please note the road to the property is unpaved and consists of loose gravel/dirt/mud when rainy. Power to the area, more so in wintertime, can be lost. Don’t worry, the cabin has a backup generator that will automatically turn on. Wildlife: This is in the woods and we do have native wildlife. Do not leave food outside as it attracts creatures, big and small. Ferry traffic is very busy Friday through Sunday. You might consider coming early (Thursdays), leaving late (Mondays) or both!!! :)
