Casa Vista is located at Casa Zapote, a small scale working farm in a little local neighborhood in the mountains above San Marcos. A 15 minute walk from the town center via natural paths that lead past wandering roosters, coffee fields and colourful homes. While there is no direct road access, we are always happy to meet our guests in the center to help them with their things and show them the way. We are also happy to provide escort service at night. PLEASE NOTE: the trail may be challenging for some, and we recommend good walking shoes and a flashlight. The Ranch boasts distinctive architecture, natural building techniques (including adobe, super adobe, wood, brick & stone), and volcano, lake & mountain views. Our fresh veggies and herbs come directly from our gardens – all designed by experienced permaculture specialists to take advantage of natural grading, grey-water irrigation, deep-bedding compost and zero-waste food systems. In addition to growing our own greens, we also raise rabbits, chickens and ducks on site and source our ingredients from local farms. PLEASE NOTE: we are a working farm in a local community in a mountainous setting. That means that you may hear roosters crooning, goats bleating, ducks quacking, owls hooting, dogs barking, tortillas clapping, and other sounds of local life.
