Inspired by Spanish Colonial architecture, "Casa Ebano", was conceived as a secure comfortable retreat along the pacific coast of Oaxaca. Built on a promontory overlooking Playa la Boquilla and the Pacific Coast beyond, the house was built entirely of native rock intended to blend in with the local terrain. Once you enter through the large timbered front doors you will be drawn first to the central garden then on through to the back patio to take in the expansive vista. There are three bedrooms each with their own private bathroom with shower, king size bed, open closet and unique decor. Bedrooms open to corridors and the central garden. Fully equipped kitchen includes a commercial range for the serious cook and works well for the social gatherers that want to lend a hand. The living room or sala is has deep built-in cushioned seating, comfortable place to read, play the guitar or converse. Dining area is open to patio and garden. There is a powder/pantry room in the kitchen. The home is mostly furnished with Spanish Revival furniture brought from California as well as artifacts and other interesting items collected while traveling all around Mexico. Various spaces to sit, relax and enjoy. 15 minute walk down to the beach. There is a small hotel with restaurant and bar called Hotel Bahia de la Luna. Food and service is very good. A nice place to be for the day. Closest market for shopping for food is Pochutla about 25 minutes away, or Puerto Angel about 15 minutes. Transportation from Huatulco Airport is via taxi or car rental. Full access. There is plenty of on-site parking behind closed gates. There will be a couple available to greet guests. They can be hired to shop, cook and provide housekeeping if desired. You will drive through a small village known as Arroyo Cruz out a dirt road approximately 1.5 km. Sometimes the road can be a bit bumpy but two wheel drive is fine. Take it slow as there are people that live along the road. If you are flying in you can rent a car at the airport or take a taxi. Renting a car is advised if you want to do any exploring. Water is delivered by truck to the cisterna above Casita. There is no hot water as it is usually rather warm and the temperate water feels refreshing. Water should be used sparingly. Bottled drinking water will be provided. All linens and some kitchen basics also provided.
