Some previous guests have booked the place and used Taxi/Uber/ride share apps to get to the space but we do recommend bringing a car. We are available via e-mail or phone if you have any questions! There are so many things to do and see in the surrounding towns of Kingston, Stone Ridge, New Paltz, Woodstock and High Falls, including amazing hiking trails, swimming holes, farms & farmer's markets, apple picking, vintage stores, barn sales, restaurants and cafes. Best to take a car up to the house with free parking on the premises. GPS is highly recommended! We have had people get access to the space via car service (uber and the like) and Rosendale bus stop is probably the closest public transport at about 10 minutes drive. We have well water which is perfectly safe to drink (we have the water tested regularly) but can occasionally smell a little sulphuric to certain well developed olfactory glands, quite the norm in this neck of the woods. Some guests prefer to bring bottled water but we really don't think it's necessary . Although on 11 acres of land, the house is visible from the road and the neighbor's house, particularly during the winter months when the trees are bare. It is however very private. It's also rather dark and quiet at night for those used to more urban environs. Recycling/trash will need to be separated and put in the appropriate bins outside. We have workmen attend to grass cutting and bins on occasion. They are nice people who are trusted hands.
