Kemah Cottages on Walsh-Hospitality House

Kemah Cottages on Walsh, Hospitality House and Tiny Dream House, are located in unincorporated area called Bayview, just 3 miles south of the Kemah Boardwalk, and 3 blocks from Galveston Bay. Like its postal neighbor, Bacliff, the area contains a diversity of homes and inhabitants. It might not be unusual to hear the neighbor's rooster crow midday, or hear a ball game or music wafting through the air on a Sunday afternoon. It's country style by the Bay. We believe you shouldn't have to bring the little things you need for daily life, so expect the salt and pepper, coffee and tea fixings, and the bath amenities you expect from a hotel. We have spare beach towels and starter sun tan lotion in case you forget yours. There will be a variety of bed pillows to choose from because everyone's neck is different. Throw your wet towels in the laundry bin as you leave, and we'll clean them up! Oh, and the cable television and wireless internet are ready. For those with children, we can provide one convertible baby/toddler bed upon request for a $10 a stay charge. And, bedding for the sofa is available if you've booked for it. This is a whole house rental. We do not live on the property. Keypad entry will be arranged for you after your booking. We will be available by phone to serve any needs and arrange to meet you if you'd like. If we're not available, we'll have a guest host on standby and you'll have that number. The grill is a charcoal grill so you will have to provide charcoal briquets, but we have the fluid and matches! We'd love to know if you have a special occasion or special need before your arrival. We'd be glad to find certain items for you and have them there for their cost. A guest book of local attractions, events, shopping services, non-chain restaurants is located in the cottage, but if you want to know something particularly, give us a call. Because of its unique make-up, there are several interesting places nearby. Kemah Boardwalk, Johnson Space Center, Galveston Island, Houston's many attractions are well known. But, within walking distance, 1 mile or less, are Noah's Ark nd Bar and Grille , Bayview Duck English Pub, Lone Star Grill and La Brisas Mexican Restaurant. A local fishing park is off Bayshore Drive. Just .7 miles down Walsh is the Bayview Equestrian Center offering jumping lessons to all ages, including a summer beginner's camp. Get in the car and in minutes you can find San Leon, teeming with local restaurants and the interesting Raileen's Distillery. Or head into Kemah for a guided fishing day. For country comfort in a unique setting, Hospitality House and Tiny Dream House will suit you well. This location is not suited to public transportation, or easy walking on sidewalks. The asphalt roads do not have a lot of traffic however. Because Hwy 146 going south into Kemah Boardwalk is quite crowded on weekends, It can be advisable to take I45 south to FM 96 east which dead ends at Hwy 146. Take a right to Miles Road, left and down to Walsh. Or, continue on I45 south to FM 646, take a left and follow to Hwy 146 . Take a left and continue to a right at Gordy Road. Either of these routes will take you by major shopping areas to get groceries, although FM 96 is more convenient. Regardless of house you come, once here you'll find your way around easily. A 5th or 6th guest may be accommodated on the sofa or a queen air mattress for $10 each per night. An infant/toddler bed can be set up in the home for an additional $20 per entire stay, regardless if the child is part of the 4 person stay. If the child is a 5th person, the $10 per person per night fee applies too. Please inquire when making your booking.
