This open-concept, studio-like apartment is right downtown Halifax, minutes away from Spring Garden Road, the IWK, and very close to Quinpool Rd, another major Halifax hot spot. It comes with a parking spot, which is difficult to find in the city, and most things are walkable from there. 500-600 thread count pure cotton sheets, beautifully renovated and designed, this apartment is a hidden little nook of relaxation in the heart of the city with loads of history (it used to be a maternity ward). This place comes with a parking spot (nearly impossible to find downtown), has a dishwasher, and has paid laundry on-site. It has a kitchen, a proper dining room, and the bedroom and living room are in the same space with no doors, as it's open-concept - bigger than a studio space however. With a king-sized bed and a queen-sized modern pull-out, this space is best suited for a couple with a child or two, or three adults. ***LET US KNOW if you need the pull-out. WE ONLY MAKE IT when it’s needed with sheets so it’s clean and fresh as guests need it. Within quick walking distance from the IWK, Spring Garden Rd, and close to Quinpool Rd. Right next door to a fantastic cafe that serves breakfast, lunch, and drinks. The house is as little as 2 minutes away from Dalhousie University, 2 min to the Rebecca Cohn Law School and Management building, 3 min from the Dalhousie Library and sub, and 6 min to Dalhousie gym. Original hardwood flooring, 500 thread count 100% US farmed cotton sheets on the King bed, 600 thread count sheets for the Queen pull-out, all brand new furniture and fresh paint, carefully cleaned by professionals, this apartment is a city-centred oasis. For soap we provide body wash, and we also provide shampoo, conditioner, make-up remover wipes, and q-tips. In the kitchen we have vegetable oil for cooking, olive oil, salt & pepper grinders, hot sauce, mustard, ketchup, soy sauce, coffee (made by French Press), coffee whitener, a selection of teas, and white/brown/alternative sugars. Books & board games for an evening in, and a Netflix-enabled 40" smart TV for entertainment. There is a laundry room, in the building but outside the apartment. It costs two loonies per wash and two loonies per dry. Please leave a review! All feedback is appreciated. (If there was an issue I hope you would allow us the chance to address it during your stay first.) We can only improve with honest information. Please note: 4.8 stars is minimum for Superhost status, 4.7 stars is minimum for basic requirements, 4.5 stars issues a warning, and 4.3 stars is ground for permanent removal. So although 4-stars sound good, by AirBnb standards it is considered a failure. As hosts we like to give our guests their space. You can check in and out on your own, any time you like within the check-in/check-out times. We are ALWAYS available if you have a question, concern, or would like some recommendations. DO NOT suffer silently or wait until you check out to let us know if something doesn't work, or you need help with something!! Be in touch, let us know, and we will help you ASAP!! Right next door is Coburg Social, a cafe that makes amazing coffee, breakfast, lunch, and drinks. Spring Garden Rd, a major downtown Halifax street is within walking distance - you can see it from just in front of the apartment building's front door. Also the Halifax Public Gardens are within walking distance just down Spring Garden, and just beyond that is Halifax's Citadel Hill, a historic monument where they shoot the noon cannon every single day. The Museum of Natural History is not far from the Public Gardens, and the new Halifax Public Library, that won some World Architecture Awards. The Halifax Waterfront is not far from the bottom of Spring Garden, and along there is a ton of cute shops and things to experience. Along the Waterfront is the Seaport Farmer's Market, best experienced on a Saturday morning. You can also take the Ferry across the Harbour for the cheapest Harbour tour ever ($2.50, best taken at sunset), and check out Downtown Dartmouth. Have a late dinner at the Wooden Monkey on the Dartmouth Waterfront on their beautiful outdoor deck, overlooking the Halifax Harbour and Downtown Halifax. Loads of fresh seafood restaurants are in the area as well, and many beaches, parks, lakes, etc are within driving distance. You can catch a bus just outside the apartment, for an adult it is $2.50, and you can transfer between buses unlimited for a period of time (your transfer they give you on the first bus will tell you how long you have until it runs out - it's usually a few hours). I would suggest not driving in the city on a weekday in the morning around 7:30-9am, or later in the day between 3:30-6pm. Sundays are the best days for driving.
