Sanctuary by the Sea - Natural Social Distancing!
If you like peace and quiet and spectacular beaches, come to our Sanctuary by the Sea on beautiful 8 mile Whitby beach. Unplug from the craziness and reconnect with nature, exploring the out islands of North & Middle Caicos. Step out of our home and onto a gorgeous white-sand beach where you'll have everything you'll need for a restorative stay including a comfortable King bed, well-stocked kitchen, spacious DR/LR and beach chairs, umbrella and cooler for beach hopping. Experience paradise! Get away from it all. That is what we most love about an out-island experience. You will feel like you stepped back in time to a quieter, gentler island life. Although we love Provo and have enjoyed many other islands (Hawaii, Bahamas, St. John, Tortola, Capri, etc) we decided to purchase on North Caicos because of its simplicity. It is a truly unique experience to come here. There are simply no crowds, the people who live here are friendly, helpful and welcoming, and it is very safe. We want to share this little slice of paradise with you because we think you too will love the restorative effect this will have on your soul. As an outer island there is not really any "night life" and you won't spend the day shopping. North and Middle Caicos are great to explore if you have a sense of adventure and like to discover new things. We want this place to feel like a a true beach house - but upscale and refreshed. It is freshly painted, sparkling clean with modern furniture and amenities. We do not yet have wifi (which can be a challenge on outer islands) but you will have everything you need for a comfortable stay including a a microwave, toaster, instant pot, blender (important for those pina coladas) and even a popcorn popper. If connectivity is important to you, your data plan will work fine and lots of folks use a hot-spot. You will love the Silver Palm Restaurant, located on the property adjacent to the complex and there are other excellent choices nearby - My Dees' Ms. B's the Aquatic. We can help you with recommendations! While an out island vacation is not for everyone, if you love nature and beautiful beaches, you will love it here. And if you are like us, you will want to come back again and again. There is a property manager on-site who will meet you at the ferry, accompany you to the property and will be available to you throughout your stay. Explore miles of beach right out your front door. Relax beneath a galaxy of stars at night. It is very quiet - no cars, no jet-skis, no barking dogs, just the sound of the waves and the palm trees rustling in the breeze. Don't feel like cooking? The best restaurant on the island is in our backyard. North Caicos is an out island to Provo and as such requires some advance planning. There is an ATM in Bottle Creek, a few small grocery stores and 7 restaurants on the island. You will definitely feel you have stepped back in time a bit on this eco-friendly property which includes solar hot water. The water is fine for bathing but you should plan to purchase bottled water for drinking. We strongly recommend renting a vehicle. There are so many beautiful places to explore on North and Middle Caicos, but you'll need a car to do so. There is only one paved road, so you can't really get lost. However, there are lots of small dirt roads that beg to be explored and are generally rewarded by some spectacular views of the ocean or nature. Nearby is a small pond in which hundreds of flamingos can be seen and you will see some amazing sunsets. There are many interesting places to see on both North and Middle Caicos and can easily spend a week snorkeling, hiking, swimming, and fishing, without any crowds whatsoever. The beaches are almost always deserted - and we encourage you to check out HorseStable Beach, Bambarra and if you are really adventuresome (and have a jeep), Wild Cow Run.
