A quiet and bright guest suite amongst trees with views of the Tongass Narrows, Pennock Island, and Gravina Island from your private deck. In a quaint neighborhood above downtown, the location hits a great balance -- you're on the edge of wilderness, but only two blocks away from restaurants, bars, shopping, and walking the docks. NOTE: Roofing work planned the summer of 2022. If work takes place during your stay, you will be comped the affected days or be allowed to cancel at no penalty. A large studio suite with a private entrance, equipped kitchenette, washer/dryer, and excellent wifi. There's a Keurig coffee maker to have a hot drink in the morning listening to the eagles, a nice corner table to eat meals and plan your adventures, and a comfy king-sized bed to relax in after a fun day of hiking, fishing, or flight in a float plane. You enter the unit walking up a short trail through the trees on the side of the house, and up a short flight of stairs to the deck. We live onsite in case you need us. Entry into the unit is via coded lockbox. In the unit is our short guide to activities, shopping, and restaurants. We're also of course around for advice if you need it. We've lived in Ketchikan for over 12 years, love the town, and want to share it with you! A historic neighborhood full of steep streets and "street" stairways. An easy walk downhill to shopping and restaurants, Thomas Basin, Creek Street, Married Men's Trail and spawning salmon in the creek. A less easy walk back up the hill, but it's invigorating! You can easily explore the historic portion of Ketchikan from here on foot. There are a few trailheads in town you can reach via a short taxi ride, or rent a car to explore the whole island (parking is easy on the street).
