50ft from the Atlantic Ocean, large flat-rock and pebble beach perfect for tidal pool exploration, beach fires, and general tea drinking and relaxation. House offers, handmade quilts, 2 pull out couches, towels and linens and trad. clothesline, plus more. Nearby HistoricTrinity through to Elliston. Excellent home for your baycation. Willie's Place is a modern, newly renovated 2 bedroom home. Front Room of home offers a wide view of Bonavista Bay. Fully equipped kitchen. Washer/Dryer plus trad. clothesline Homemade quilts Towels and Linens 1 Full Bathroom 2 Bedrooms ( two double) 2 pull out couches House was formerly owned by our neighbour, William Skiffington. We now have street names and house numbers. Willie's Place is located at 6 Berry Hill Road. Upper Amherst Cove is home to the award winning Bonavista Social Club ( wood-fired pizza and bread, plus other delicious foods - I highly recommend the bread pudding). As well as home to Paterson Woodworking, beautifully crafted furniture, windows and doors. If lucky, you'll catch a glimpse of one of the two resident Bald Eagles in the cove. There are a couple of hiking trails, starting from within the cove. The trail up to the Dry Hills for berry picking when in season, and the Wolf Head trail which starts on the opposite side of the cove. Large flat rocks and pebbles make up the beach of the cove. perfect for tidal pool exploration, beach fires and general tea drinking and relaxation. Interaction with guests is minimal, mostly upon check in and check out, however emergency and contact phone numbers are always available. Did I mention the large flat rock beach? And the pebble beach areas as well? Quiet community filled with lovely people. Home of my father's family, dating back several generations. Lots of fields and woods to explore. If you have a car, etc, you will be able to visit the local communities and their attractions. If you don't have transportation of your own, there are several rural taxis that travel from Bonavista to St. John's (and back) on a daily basis. Making stops along the way to pick up and drop off passengers. I suggest asking if the driver will be able to drop you off directly to the house, they often will. When driving in NL, it's always important to keep an eye out for Moose. They are surprisingly stealthy for such large creatures ( upwards of 800lbs). You'll notice the smaller trees on the sides of our roads are kept at bay. This is so you can spy the moose before they get onto the roads. So keep your Moose Eyes on, especially at dawn and dusk.
