River Tide Retreat

Welcome to your home away from home in the beautiful town of West LaHave! This quaint cottage is over 100 years old and is located 10 minutes from the town of Bridgewater, right on the river. It is a perfect sanctuary to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Sit on the large deck and relax while you watch the boats pass by. Enjoy fresh local seafood, maybe take a dip in the river and end your day with a bonfire while gazing up at the stars. Inside you will find a fully equipped modern kitchen with river views. Tea and coffee and water cooler are provided. There is a lovely living room with a large bay window facing the river and a propane fireplace. Perfect spot for bird watching, playing board games or reading. Upstairs you will find 2 bedrooms each with a comfortable queen size bed, a common area with another queen bed and full bathroom. Please note that the 2 bedrooms and upstairs washroom have folding doors, they keep it private but they are not sound proof, although the washroom does have a loud fan. The bedrooms face the main road where there is light traffic at night, we are in the country so it is not frequent however if you are a light sleeper then ear plugs are recommended. Outside we have a large deck for you to lounge on and a fire pit to toast s'mores. Lawn games, board games, books and lobster pot on a propane stove are all available for your use. On a clear night you can lay out on the deck and star gaze for hours, it is blissful! Whole cottage I look forward to feedback on arrival and am available by text anytime throughout your stay. West LaHave is very small community full of lovely people, you will find small artisan studios along the route 331, stop in and receive a warm welcome and pick up some local souvenirs. The cottage is just 10 minutes away from the LaHave Bakery and the cable ferry and 10 minutes away from Bridgewater where you can pick up all that you will need for a great stay. You will find great locally made food, perfect to take to Crescent or Rissers Beach. The cottage is perfectly located to enjoy all the beauty and charm of the South Shore of NS. The best way to get around the south shore is by vehicle or bicycle.
