Woodhaven Island Lodge is a remote hand built log house offering total tranquility off the grid accommodations. The lodge has 1 double and 1 queen beds. The lodge is located on an island on Indian Arm Pond. Only accessible by boat, canoe, ski, snowshoe and snowmobile. Parking and boat is provided for access. All amenities are available during the Spring to Fall seasons with solar and gas generator power. No Sat TV / Web, but good cell phone access. Bring a good book or two! Many board games. Water will be provided during the winter. Solar panels and gas generator power the electric lights and amenities. Seasonal access to full bathroom with toilet, shower, vanity, but there is a log outhouse. There is a wood fireplace / stove for heat. Wood is provided all seasons. There is a double bedroom on the main floor and large loft queen bedroom with loft patio. There is a full main level patio with a gas BBQ and surrounded by large trees for total wind protection. New floating dock for boats, swimming and fishing. Woodhaven Island Lodge is located on an Atlantic Salmon lake and excellent salmon pools are only a short canoe paddle away. This Lodge was built by a late local person, Gerry Sargent, one log a day. It took years to construct. It a work of art and a very special place to relax, read a good book and contemplate life. A very special place to retreat and relax with no disturbances. Access to the Lodge is via boat, kayak, canoe, skis, snowshoes and snowmobile. It’s only a very short paddle or boat ride. We take you to and from the island. If you have your own kayak, paddle board or canoe you can use it around the islands. We can provide boats for your use but a liability waiver must be signed due to liability issues. A pleasure craft boating certificate must be provided to use the boats. Parking is provided. A electronic door lock give you access to Woodhaven Island Lodge. The access code will be sent to you upon booking. We will meet you and escort you to the lodge and instruct guests with the operational details. During the winter we will support your accommodation with providing containers of water, wood and gasoline for the power generator. The atmosphere of this remote island Lodge is a rare experience in an old growth Newfoundland forest. It is a place of total tranquility with birds singing in the morning and evening. Loons and a ducks in the area and with excellent fishing for Atlantic Salmon and Speckled Trout. You can fish from the shoreline or canoe to an excellent salmon pool at Neyles Brook. Indian Arm Pond is at the headwaters of the Campbellton River which has an excellent salmon run from June 1st. to September 6th. Restaurants, shopping, pharmacies, supermarkets and an excellent seafood market are located in Lewisporte about 20 minutes drive away on Rt. 340. The Wood stove / fireplace and outdoor fire pit are available, depending on forest fire warning conditions. Swimming is excellent in the wharf areas. Excellent fishing around the island shoreline with trails cut to other areas of the island . Please stay on the trails so as to not damage the old growth forest floor.
