Newly furnished, air conditioned, lovely and cozy 2 bedroom apartment. It's on the 2nd floor of a quiet building, in a fenced compound with a yard. Located along the road from Palenque town to Palenque National Park and its stunning Mayan ruins! Only 2 minutes' drive from the city center. Enjoy TV and music channels on our HD screen and cook your own meals in the well equipped kitchen surrounded by tropical trees, inhabited by howler monkeys, iguanas and colorful birds. The building is located along a quiet unpaved road, off the main road that leads from the city of Palenque to the ruins. there are 5 apartments in the building , but only the 2 apartments on the 2nd floor and the penthouse (3rd floor) are rented through AirBNB, local people live on the 2 apartments on the 1st floor. The neigbours are very friendly and helpful. The nice and peaceful sitting area in the yard and the laundry balcony with a washing machine, where you can wash and hang your cloths to dry, are shared spaces, but you have your own entrance and the apartment is private. Manuel lives in the house next to the building, and will welcome you upon arrival, to give you the keys and show you the place. He will also be available for anything you might need, and, after living in the neigborhood for many years, will be happy to share tips about places to go, things to do and local restaurant options. Feel free to ask! For non-Spanish speakers, Aviram, as co-host, is available and happy to answer questions or help solve any problems via email and/or text or (Hidden by Airbnb) messages, in English or Hebrew. One of our neighbors, just down the road sells home made bread and baked goods. 1 minute walk to Don Camaron restaurant, serving good fish and seafood, and standard Mexican dishes. 1 min walk to Mini Super Balam, where you can find some snacks, drinks and basic food. 5 minute walk to Cafe Fuga, opens at 5PM and offering the best coffee and cakes you can find here. 7 minute walk to Monte Verde - good Italian style restaurant. 2 minute drive / 18 minutes walk to the ADO/city center. 4 minute drive to El Panchan/ entrance to the Palenque National Park. 7 minute drive to the ruins. A short walk to bars, hotels with pools, a mini-market and restaurants located along the road between Palenque and Palenque National Park. The road itself has a lovely walking/biking path. Public transportation (colectivo or private taxis) is easily accessible to the Park or to town along this road. This is a residential building where local people and families live.
