Eco B&B Maya Luna

Maya Luna is a small, cozy ecological bed & breakfast located at the Costa Maya, between the small fishing villages of Mahahual and Xcalak; the place to go when you want to be away from the madness of daily life Maya Luna has 4 bungalows to rent to guests. They are located on a quiet, natural beach on the sout eastern part of the Caribbean coast of Mexico. All bungalows have a private roof terrace, a perfect place to watch the sunrise or the moon rising out of the ocean. Guest have access to their bungalow with their own private shower and toilet. In the restaurant area we have lots of interesting books, among others about wildlife, Mexico and Frida Kahlo. You can read them in your bungalow. Guests have free use of kayaks. On request guests can use one of our coolboxes, but they have to get ice in town. We can keep small packages of medications cool in our fridges. Because we run on solar, space is limited in our fridges and we need the space to run our restaurant. We welcome all guests and provide them with all information necesary during their stay regarding opening hours of the restaurant and activities we can arrange for them in the area. Maya Luna is located only 4 km south of the small fisherman town of Mahahual. Close enough to go there for shopping or do some activities, far enough to be away from the crowds and enjoy our pristine, quiet secluded beach. Nature lives here. You wake up with the sound of the birds, during the day you can kayak to the reef, just in front of the hotel and while snorkeling watching the big variety of tropical fish that live there. At only 300 meters from our hotel the mangrove connects to the ocean, resulting in very nutricous water floating into the ocean. There is always lots of fish and therefore lots of different types of birds fishing there. 2 a day the bus company Caribe passes in front of our hotel, both ways. You can go to town by taxi, walking, or asking for a ride most locals are very friendly and will take you. We can also make arrangement for a boat to take you to town. Maya Luna is a pet friendly hotel. Its also paradise for dogs, they can play and swim at the beach. The only place that they are not allowed is inside the restaurant and the kitchen. But most of the time people eat outside on our patio where the dog can join you. We have 1 bungalow for handicapped people. The doors are very wide so there is never a problem to get in with a wheelchair. The toilet inthe bungalow is 25 cm higher than regular toilets in Mexico. On the wall beside the toilet as well as beside the shower there are iron handles in case you need support.
